What would Team Captains want if this was a Wish-List?

Captains, Teammates, what would you put on this Wish-List for GameKnot to consider adding as Feature(s) that would make this the your "premier chess battlefield!" for team play.

Good team communication is Key!

Top item on my wish-list is simple....
I want to be able to communicate easily and quickly with my team and (just as important) for THEM (including the non-premium players) to communicate with ME just as easily and quickly, as we were able to do until just a few days ago.
The development of a strong and stable team is dependent on communication. In my view without the means to communicate effectively with our members, teams will enter a period of decline and everyone, including Gameknot, will suffer.

team messaging

Clearly the most important thing to most Captains is a solution to the current
team messaging problem. If going back to the previous system is not possible,
then other options should be explored, and discussed. The current use of the
"team forum" is not working for the majority of teams.

What should I Wish for first...

one thing I would really like to Wish For is to have the ability to sort the columns on several/all of the reports that GK gives us the option to view.

Like... gameknot.com if this was sortable it would give a lot of different options in managing a team

Like... gameknot.com advanced player search reports I know you can change the report search initially, why not have the ability to sort the columns without re-searching

The ability to Take off the availability light of a team mate if he has timed out or if u think hes having to many games. maybe if they could list the minimum amount of days per move on the highlighted profile of each person instead of telling me if there male or female, Wtf? .. That way when ur sending team challenges ur actully sending challenges to the people that suit the days

My wish list

I have been on this quest for about 5 years now, but here goes:

There is one improvement that would help me (and all captains) find pairings for their players:
Provide a search function where I could provide current rating ranges, 90 day rating ranges and number of days. For example, I input:

Current rating..............90 day rating..............Days/Move
1350-1450....................1375-1475......................5
1525-1625....................1500-1650
1800-1875....................1750-1900

GameKnot searches all teams and returns a list of links to teams with at least one available player matching each of my criteria:

Team A
*Team B
Team C
*Team D

A green dot could indicate which teams have a captain or co-captain online.

Now I need search only 4 teams to find a pairing instead of searching the entire universe of GameKnot teams. My time commitment is reduced from hours to minutes. I can play more chess and spend less time searching for matches.

I Wish...

That the team names that are in Blue, would show information for the team when you hover over their name.

What information?
~ Team size
~ Ladder/Table rating, current and monthly high
~ Team capt. name in blue to quickly link to them

Surely someone else can think of additional information they desire...

Let's remember we are wishing here, and it appears that GK is always trying to improve the site, So make this your opportunity to be heard, after all we are trying to make/maintain that this site is...THE "premier chess battlefield!"

I wish...

when a player you are playing has read a chat message in a game, when GK turns off the chat message symbol in your games listing, they would time stamp the message in the game, sorta like (yesterday).

That would really make this THE "premier chess battlefield!" foreplay...

that the captain of a Team would be able to generate threads in his Team Forum that only he, or his co-captains can see, monitor, or delete. I feel this would be a big help in the advancement of Team management, and would further make this...

Team Messaging

I absolutely would like to be able to send a message to everyone on my team again. I can't imagine why this was changed. As was noted above, good communication is key, and it was already difficult enough to get good communication going among ones team before this change. I know some communication issues arise purely because of language barriers, but with this being so, why would GK make it harder to communicate with ones team? People will be more likely to read and respond to a message sent to their inbox as opposed to a general post in the forum. Not to mention free members can't post in the forum. If GK is trying to sharpen the divide between paying members and free members, mission accomplished I guess. If they were trying to improve the GK experience then this was a terrible change. I encourage any captains that are unhappy with this change to contact customer support and say so. Perhaps if enough platinum-level members complain they'll listen.

I would like the option to 'flame' other captains/co-captains who continue to ignore my request, "Within 50 points of 90 day averages for all players."

A Valentine's wish regarding team play

Actually, three wishes:

1) online status - how about an option where a player's online status (the little green dot) is shown ONLY to teammates, and not the rest of GK?

2) stats for member vs. member - you know, like the table for the top GK players.

3) Please read our team page, and specifically the message to other captains. We are initiating our newest co-captain, and will accept ANY parameters regarding team matches for those teams that participate with us
