a (stupid?) team related question.....
This may seem stupid to you team vets (and believe it or not I'm one), but I'm trying to figure out exactly how the team table works. Our new team just got a challenge for two players in which we're asked to give away 600 and 300 points. Is there any possible benefit this can bring us (besides the knowledge that comes from losing to much better players )? I've looked under team stuff and FAQ and can't find any help on this....). Thanks - Clark

wait, so someone challenged you and wants you to choose players from your team that are 300/600 points below their players? if that is the case, then to my knowledge there are no benefits.

Outmatching like that is nonsense. If the other team does not have players of about the same strength as yours, simply don't play that team (for now) and look on the list of online team captains to see if there are players of similar strength available.

being deliberately outmatched........
I sent the challenge to that team, and their capt responded with players rated 600 and 300 above my two players. (The top one being one of the all-time great players on gk, by the way.) It didn't make any sense to me, but I wanted to ask around before declining. Thanks for your insights.

Not a stupid question at all !
Fortunately GK have now introduced the option to restrict the ratings difference and it seems 100 is the default setting though you can use "no limit". The advantage I see of the "no limit" option is that if you have a new(ish) player who is unbeaten or maybe lost 1/2 games and not yet reached their optimum rating other teams might prefer ( reasonably) to pair him with a much higher rated opponent. Personally as a team captain I would not automatically decline a challenge in these circumstances as it is helpful to everyone I feel for players to find their level as quickly as possible.
