So that is why I'd prefer to be on PTP I. Other than that I'm good. Not sure if anyone on PTP I cares to know so I'll keep it short. So far the guys I'm playing are pretty much like GK. Same various levels of play. The top two rated guys are pushing me hard with white against my black but I'm holding my own without a problem and should both be draws. The rest is very slow playing on my opponent's part. 3 are on lengthy holidays. The rest, so far I should get at least two wins but it's still early. |

Second Timeout2.7 Can players be replaced in a team? A team is allowed to replace players during and between the seasons. That is in the rules for the CL. Loren |

Referring to your game however, I probably wouldn't have played 10.dxe5. That's a bad move for white in my opinion even though it may score the highest. At that point I'm not sure white could win without black blundering. It's easy to say now but I'd have tried 10.h3. With this move black doesn't have as good moves to go with but black could still draw. |

Good Fighting Games, Team! Mine, Not So MuchMoscov-Volga vs. Loren 1.e4 Nf6 2.e5 Nd5 3.d4 d6 4.c4 Nb6 5.Nf3 g6 6.Nc3 Bg7 7.Be3 O-O 8.c5!? N6d7 9.cxd6 cxd6 10.exd6 exd6 11.Be2 Nc6 12.O-O Nf6 13.Re1 d5 (=) 14.Rc1 Re8 15.Bd3 Bg4 16.h3 Bxf3 17.Qxf3 Qb6! (Now Black is fine after 18.Qd1 Qxb2 19.Nb5 Qb4! 20.Nc7 Rxe3! with several tricky variations but Black always okay due to attacks on the dark-squared Ps.) 18.Nxd5 (White opts for the simplest solution, a dead draw.) Nxd5 0.5-0.5 (19.Qxd5 Rad8 20.Qb5 Bxd4 and Black will always wind up with an active R and a drawn ending.) Regards, Loren |

Loren: Unfortunately it's just a draw. And more unfortunately I'm forced to fight hard with Black for another draw against the top player in my group but it shouldn't be a problem. I do have at least one win coming up soon...just depends when he finally resigns. The rest are so far draws which scare me because some are the weakest players in my group who have no business getting a draw against me but unfortunately that's the position I'm in Nice draw on your part. Too bad there are so many draws (from what I can see) on ICCF. |

Nice Struggle, Soren!I have one piece-up game, so I'm sure that I will eventually win at least that one. I have the advantage in most of my games, including some small material advantages, but no other simple wins. I am probably slightly worse off in two of my games with Black but I do not consider the positions losing (yet). Regards, Loren |

Posted Previously, But Disappeared...Not a very hard game, but a win is a win. Sven Olof Andersson (Enkoping)-Loren 1.d4 Nf6 2.Bg5 Ne4 3.Bf4 c5 4.e3 Qb6 5.Nc3 Nxc3 6.bxc3 d6 7.Bd3 Qa5 8.Qd2 g6 9.Nf3 Bg7 10.O-O Nc6 11.Be2? Latest Update3 P+ endings: 1 now 100% win even though the material is now =, other 2 90% win (factoring in my ability to make mistakes). N + 2P vs. R ending: Mullling draw offer from opponent. 2 Benkos: Regained P in one with probable drawn ending. Other still following a WCCC final game that ended in a draw. 2N vs. Q middlegame: Still in my personal book (I consider it equal). 1 equal middlegame (Black Alekhine). 1 advantageous middlegame (White QGD). If everything goes as hoped (win the advantageous endings, draw the Benkos, maybe draw the N + 2P vs. R) then I will be at +4 with one advantageous game and two equal games to try for more. Regards, Loren |
