Profile / Personal info:Country: United States Additional info: I started playing chess at a young age and even took a small folding magnetic chessboard with me when I joined the Army and spent a year in Vietnam during 1971-72. After the war I journeyed to Alaska and lived 25 years in the midst of the pristine "Land of the Midnight Sun". During the spring of 2001 I returned to the hometown of my childhood where I now reside. I have enjoyed learning, studying, and playing this great game for over 45 years... - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ...The photo is a shot of Anchorage, Alaska and the Chugach Mountains taken from a boat on the waters of Cook Inlet. While attending the University of Alaska during 1977-82, I worked for a law firm very near the building on the far left which is quite close to the coast line bluffs and in the vicinity of "Bootleggers Cove"... - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ...I am currently taking an extended leave of absence from online chess and just logging in to read the forums...
