                 I started playing chess at a young age and even took a small folding magnetic chessboard with me when I joined the Army and spent a year in Vietnam during 1971-72. After the war I journeyed to Alaska and lived 25 years in the midst of the pristine "Land of the Midnight Sun". During the spring of 2001 I returned to the hometown of my childhood where I now reside.
