Vlad’s Impalers - a brief History

If you search the GameKnot “All Teams” list, you will notice that the Impalers are listed third, which credits the Impalers as being one of the first GameKnot teams! As one of the first GameKnot teams, the Impalers have an interesting and rich history! Before the Impalers, there were some outstanding, exceptional, and friendly chess players. The first Impalers were formed when these exceptional chess players, joined under the dynamic leadership of Vlad V. My regret is that I joined the Impalers after Vlad was forced to give up, the things that he loved the most... the Impalers and the world of chess. Our last team captain, perhaps said it best, when he told me that Vlad was the nicest person that we ever had the pleasure of knowing. Vlad remains the nucleus that binds the original group of Impalers together, much like electrons are held by the nucleus of an atom.
