CHESS TEAMS RULES:
Rules for Chess Teams:
  1. Players can be a member of only one team at a time.
  2. At least 5 wins in any regular rated chess games are required to be able to join a team.
  3. Team captains and co-captains can challenge other teams to a team match, or accept/decline other teams' challenges.
  4. To challenge another team, a number of players (at least 2) is selected by the team captain/co-captain. The other team responds with their selection of players (equal number). The first team's captain/co-captain then approves the selection, and the match is started.
  5. Each team match consists of a number of games with the time control set to either 3, 5 or 7 days per move, 2 games per each player (one as white and one as black). E.g. a 3-player team match will have 3 players from each team and 6 games will be played total (2 per player).
  6. The result of each team match is determined by the combined score of all games in a match (1 for a win, 1/2 for a draw, 0 points for a lost game). After all games are finished in a match, the participating teams will be assigned a new rank on the Team Ladder.
  7. Each team game also affects the team's rating, using Elo rating formula (just like the player ratings).
  8. When a player quits a team or moves to another team, all games started while being in the old team will still be counted towards that team's rating.
  9. Teams can have up to 30 free members and an unlimited number of premium subscribers.
  10. Only premium subscribers with Platinum or Titanium memberships can start a new team or act as a team captain/co-captain.
  11. A team can only have 1 captain and up to 3 co-captains. Team captains can promote regular team members to a co-captain status. Co-captains can challenge other teams to a team match, and accept or decline other team's challenges.
