1. d4
The usual central push.

1... d5 2. e3
I quite fancy a sort of Stonewall if possible. It's solid and Zed is pretty sharp.

2... Nf6 3. Bd3
Just preparing to Stonewall.

3... e6 4. Nd2
Natural Stonewall developing move.

4... c5 5. c3
Making an escape square for my Bishop. So far going to plan.

5... Bd6 6. f4 Nc6 7. Ngf3
Nothing to stop the Stonewall yet so carrying on with plan...early days.

7... O-O 8. O-O
Slowly does it. Will now try to reshuffle the knights into the classical position on e5 and f3, lock the centre and launch a kingside attack.

8... cxd4 9. cxd4 a6 10. a3 b5 11. Ne5
1st Knight in position. I want the other one on f3 in a supporting role, The knight on e5 is very strong and can exert considerable influence from there...quite frankly it is annoying for black. If black exchanges on e5 I take back with the f pawn and have a nice open file for my rooks to blast up the Kingside later. The pawn on f4 also facilitates a rook lift to attack the King Rf3-Rg3 or Rh3

11... Bb7
OK Blacks white squared Bishop is just biting on his own locked pawn at d5...I'm OK with that it's just posturing.

12. Ndf3
Supporting the advanced knight.

12... Ne4
This hole at e4 is annoyingly always present in the Stonewall. But I will just face it off and threaten to win a pawn while developing my Queen...She is vulnerable on the open C file but not yet! and she can always hurtle back along the second rank and join in a Kingside attack later from f2, g2 or h2.

13. Qc2 Nxe5 14. fxe5
OK my forward knight is gone. But this is usual in the Stonewall...I will open up the f file that seems more effective than having my other knight on e5 where it can easily be invited to go away and play somewhere else by black playing f6!

14... Be7
Time to whip the knight off and lock the centre before black gets too active with his Kingside bits...I want to hold the initiative there myself a bit later.

15. Bxe4 dxe4 16. Nd2 Qd5
OK she doesn't want to lose a pawn.

17. b4
I think I can get my knight into a superbly protected outpost on c5 where it will at the very least be equal to Black's locked in light squared Bishop and if Black decides to swap it off on C5 for her Black squared Bishop I end up with a very strong passed pawn on the c file. Yes it is a simple plan but it seems strong and it is difficult for Black to put a spanner in the works.

17... Rac8
I was expecting that some time ago. Its OK because I can lock the c file right up with my knight before Black can stop me.

18. Qb1
Preparing to post the knight on c5 via b3.

18... Bg5
OK that helps me with a tempo.... I was manouvering my knight to c5 anyway.

19. Nb3 Be7 20. Nc5
Carrying on with plan.

20... f5
If I take en passent I lose my strong pawn centre and blacks becomes formiddable so I can't take.
