Annotated chess game

The Grand Prix Attack (2.f4) is intended to be a kind of accelerated King's Indian Attack - a very aggressive line much favoured by young developing players. This response by Black (2...d5) is the downside to the Grand prix Attack, however - and equally aggressive counterattack line.

All this is sufficiently plausible -

The alternative is 6.Be2. Who would play that?

Quite a lot of games have taken this course.

This or 8... Kc6, which is usually considered a better move.

But for the moment, White has the lead in development and some targets tto strike at. Black probably does have the edge, but it might not be a big as you might think!

Most of the games I've played in so far, unless I've blundered as White, White has held the advantage in this line. Your commentary reads like the suicide note of a depressed person. Perhaps you should concentrate on the positive and you'd recognise your opportunities in this game. I speak as an eternal bipolar chess player (though thankfully not in other walks of life).

In this game i play the safest line i can possible find for black.. Main objective > safeguard the king Secondary > Wait with development until white starts developing or trading..

Has been played before, and obviates forks at e6 and f7.

I prefer development at this stage: either 10. Nc3 or even 10. d3. 10. Nxe4 doesn't look bad either.

It is true that Freddy has much the more prior experience with this opening. This confers upon him a considerable advantage. On the other hand, I think you can just about trust that if you have triggered a conditional, you haven't done anything wrong...

OK my previous comment was perhaps unfair. I, too, am often driven to drink by this game :0... or at least, too often play under its influence...
