1. e4
Despite a large material advantage, White has to put up with some clever stalemate threats before winning this game.

1... e5 2. Nc3 Nf6
This move is less aggressive than 2.Nf3, but often leads to more violent play.

3. Bc4 a6 4. Nf3
Probably not very accurate, as we shall see...

4... b5
If White moves the bishop, 5...b4 leads to the win of the e4 pawn. I decided to invest a piece for two pawns and a small initiative.

5. Bxf7+
This sacrifice is probably unsound.

5... Kxf7 6. Nxe5+ Ke8 7. O-O
Trying to win the e4 pawn would be dangerous because it would open up the e-file for White.

7... Nc6 8. Nxc6
Keeping a small lead in development. This is important because White is slightly down in material.

8... dxc6 9. e5 Ng4
Nd5 would have been much better. The knight is safe there, and Black would have an advantage.

10. h3 Nxe5
Nh6 had to come into consideration, as horrible as Black's position would have been after d4.

11. Re1 Qf6 12. d4
White regains the piece.

12... Bd6
Black's king isn't getting any safer. He probably should have castled. Now White will win another piece.

13. dxe5 Bxe5 14. Qe2 Ke7
A useless move.

15. Qxe5+ Qxe5 16. Rxe5+ Kf7 17. Bg5
Preventing Rd8.

17... Be6
Black correctly gets his other rook out, although this bishop isn't very safe on e6.

18. Rae1 h6 19. Bh4
Rxe6 was probably more accurate.

19... Bc4 20. b3 Bd5 21. Nxd5 cxd5 22. Rxd5 c6 23. Rd6 g5 24. Bg3 Rac8 25. Rd7+
The trick is to figure out the quickest win. Even in situations where one has an extreme material advantage, games don't win themselves.

25... Kg6 26. f3 Rhf8 27. Rd6+ Rf6 28. Ree6 Rxe6 29. Rxe6+ Kf5 30. Rxh6
White still needs to keep an eye on his back rank.

30... a5 31. a3 c5 32. Ra6
Winning a pawn.

32... a4 33. bxa4 b4
Black finds a way to get counterplay in a desperate situation.

34. axb4 cxb4 35. Rb6 Rc4 36. a5
This pawn isn't as easy to advance as it seems.
