I think Kxd7 is OK, the king seems fairly safe at d7. The knight stays more active and black has the opportunity to play Rc8 on the next move.

I agree with carnic, this looks fine.

Cause, you can use the h-rook on the kingside and use the a-rook on the queenside.

25.Qc2?? Qxf4. Just because Black isn't taking advantage of every opportunity doesn't mean White should be playing sloppy.

@jkarp: it's actually quite easy. 36...Qf4+ 37.g3 (forced) 37...Qxf2#.

It's quite easy when you recognise the pattern. If you're not familiar with the mating pattern it is easy to miss. Which is of course why doing puzzles etc that show these same mates over and over again is a good idea for learners, so they can spot them without thinking.

please refer to my earlier comment and this shows why I refuse to resign even in a dire position. ( a hope against all hopes comes to fruition )
