@jkarp - Better to take the g4 pawn with the bishop on c8 (rather than the knight on f6) so Erika can pin white's f3 knight and win it by advancing her pawn to e5. But taking the rook on a1 is best imo. Why have you declined to capture it for so long? White obviously wants it off the board!

No, this move loses a piece. You're temporarily up a pawn, but after 16.Qxd3 you lose your knight, and 16...Qxd3+ 17.Kxd3 does not help.

There are ways of dealing with an attack of somnolence: look for the quickest way to finish. This ain't it. Better was 15...Bxg4ch and White's Queen bites the dust, followed shortly after by the King.

Because your opponent is leaving free pieces. Safety is the most important thing in chess. If you don't offer free pieces, and capture all your opponent's free pieces, you'll win every game.

Why not check with your rook on f8 (...Re8+) Checking with your queen just blocks your rook from moving. Remember it's best to use all (or most) of your pieces in an attack
