Obviously Joe meant 22...Kf8, and at first sight, that seems correct. But the fact is, Black has no worthwhile defence, and hasn't had since the queen fell. After 22...Kf8, White simply plays 23.Rae1! Re3 24.Rxe3 Rd8 25.Qh8#. After 22...Rxe7, at least Black gets to move wood around for more than two moves.

There isn't really much profit in seeking 'best moves' here, and hasn't been for several moves, now. That time has long passed. Black simply has no play.

28.Re5ch ... [a] 28...Kh6 29.Qf8# or [b] 28...Kh4 29.Qf4#.
