The funny thing is... even though 71... c1Q+ gives away a queen for nothing, it's equally as good as the move played (both are mates in five, and Black has nothing better).

Very nicely avoiding stalemate.

who knows what my rook was doing... i felt i didn't need it at the time and that it helped out when the king still had three pawns and a rook.... just by being there.... in a way it is ironic, but in a way it isn't GG
