Annotated chess game

I have no idea why Black wants to play this way. Given the circumstances, I might have tried 11...Nd5, and hope that White takes it (12.exd5), whereat Black escapes with a draw: 12...Qh4ch 13.Ke2 (forced) ...Qf2ch 14.Kd3 Qd4ch 15.Ke2 Qf2ch and a threefold repetition ensues. Of course, this threat is easily enough parried if White is sufficiently alert, and normally one doesn't recommend trappy chess like this. But Black is a whole rook behind, the game is lost, why not, then, try for a swindle?

Well the 2 players here are rather young and in that case, often times, rather then looking at the board they look at the situation they're in. In this case black's idea was probably "I'm losing, so I should be on the defensive, if i create some sort of bunker I can probably draw." It's not a bad idea in itself, but in this specific game black should try to play for tricks since a bunker won't hold out when you're down an entire rook. On another note, The previous move h3 doesn't accomplish anything for white. More logical would have been d3 with the plan to get your bishop active. You're up an entire rook, there's no need to start some sort of attack with all your pawns just yet, just develop your pieces and then start up an attack.

Nothing to be surprised about here, if white trades black will be able to recapture and undouble the pawns on the c-file. Then again white is already so far ahead in this game that trading is probably in his best interest.

I like this move and arguably it's the best move in this situation since it also allows your bishop to develop after black retreats. Kh1 of course also works, however this move is more forcing.
