What the ding dong was White thinking? Even 12.Qxa8?? - a poor move as the two query marks indicate - would have been an improvement.

Understandable, but best was 13...Bxh4+! Now, that doesn't appear to work because of 14.Rxh4??, but if white plays that, you have 14...Qxh4+ winning a pawn and Rook for Bishop which increases your advantage especially since he's also in check..

Still leaving 14...Bxh4+ as an option.

Why isn't White moving any of his undeveloped pieces?

I'd like to know the same thing. Almost as importantly, why hasn't black captured the h4 pawn.

Well, after you move back, you get a doubled attack, to say the least.

Slightly better is 20...Bd7, as now White can hit the bishop a second time with 21.b5. Mind you, if you were hoping to induce that pawn advance, I withdraw my caveat!

I could be wrong, ION, but I think that Erika was trying to induce the pawn advance, as I have seen that from her. In fact, she said something like that in one of her previous annotations.
