I like 31...Qe7ch here. NOT, of course, 31...Qd6ch??

Black had a pretty two-mover, here: 32...Nc2ch 33.Ka2 Nc3#.

Black had a spectacular mate in 4, here: 33...Rb3ch 34.Kxb3 Qb5ch (exploiting the bishop pin. NOT 34...Qb7ch 35.Bxb7!) 35.Kc2 Qb2ch 36.Kxd3 Nc5#! It turns out Black had an even quicker mate! I'll leave you to find it out.

?? Right idea - WRONG square. 34...Qe7ch was the go.

White could have saved himself by 35.exd6. Had the queen stood instead at e7, the mating sequence would have carried on to its conclusion.

A good win! In a game as complicated as this one was, it is hard to find one's way among a whole raft of attractive possibilities. Although I have pointed out improvements here and there, it ought to be said that on only one occasion was Black's early winning edge compromised, and that was the move (34...Qd6??) that began the final mating sequence. Keep this up, and you'll be improving your game in no time.
