32. Qe4
With the idea of bring the bishop to d3.

32... Qe8
(??) with something like equality achieved, Black makes a disastrous misjudgment. Instead 32...Rd6 would have kept him in the game.

33. Bd3
(?!) Per spec, but White had an even more powerful strike: 33.Rxf6!! gxf6 34.Rxf6 ... with a decisive attack. But after the text move, White is back on top anyway...

33... f5
Hoping to block off lines. Probably the best defence wouls have been 33...Qg8 right now, when White would have had to find 34.Qh4!! Qxe6 35.Re1 ... and the skewer on the knight would have led to Black having to give it up.

34. Rf3xf5
(!!) Decisive.

34... Nxf5 35. Rxf5
(!) Although 35.Qxf5 would have been very nearly as strong, this rook recapture is the more aesthetically pleasing, as well as being the best move.

35... Rc7
(??) Cutting to the chase. After 35...Qg8 - the only reasonable defence - White would still have had the job to do: 35...Qg8 36.e7 b5 (otherwise, 36...Re8 37.Rh5, with 38.Qg6 to come, and then the g-pawn advances) 37.exd8=Q Rxd8 38.Re5 Rf8 39.g4 ...

36. Rf8+
'We crashed the gate doing ninety-eight, I said "Let them truckers roll, ten-four!"' How else do you describe this finale?
