If white bears a rook down to d4 (to cover the bishop’s diagonal pin) I can drive the white king out of his castle with Qh2+ and Rf8+. Ng3 forks queen and rook, but I may have to contend with Bd4, or worse. |

I had seen this the night before, and discounted the move. But in the morning mental fog I spent an hour pondering responses, Nxf4, Qxg4+, before realizing the white queen’s knickers were drying on the clothesline. |
