Now I think White does have a decided edge. 3 pawns for the piece, and just look at 'em!

??? Black is in serious trouble at this point as he is faced with the possibility of white capturing his knight with dxe7. The "pin" on the pawn is irrelevant because after dxe7, Qxd4, white promotes the e pawn to a new queen after having won a knight. 23. Re8 would have preserved the pin...or black could simply move his knight out of danger.

And these aren't the only threats Black has to face. The White bishop has suddenly come to life, and that infantry attack must be good for at least a piece... White has also the possibility of setting up a fearful bind: 23...Ng6 24.f4

Yes, in retrospect, I see that!

Clever response: blocking the rook attack and attacking the knight. Black pretty much has to take the rook, but then 27.e6 is very nasty.

Placing a rook behind the passed pawn is almost always a good move...

Much too weakening, for what it's worth. Black ought to leave the pawns alone, and tried something like ...Rf8 to activate this rather passively placed piece. Alternatively, and possibly better still, ...f4 might be played in order to weaken White's K-flank.

Not strictly necessary, but it pretty much shuts down any K-side counterplay by Black. No harm in that!
