This must be just a simple oversight, unless it was panic. White has several defences. 14.Be2 keeps the damage down: 14.Be2 Bxe2 15.Nxe2 Nc2ch 16.Kf1 Nxa1 17.b4 threatening 18.c5 to win a piece, and/or to round up the bronc on a1 by Bb2.

Well, you have to admit, Black made the best of his chances after losing such an enormous amount of material. It goes to show that a winning game is not necessarily a won game!
