How to limit the number of chess team games?
As the saying goes " Practice makes perfect." The more chess games you play, the more you will learn and improve your chess games. In the beginning I was very enthusiastic and I was playing nearly 50 chess games. Think of yourself like a GM and playing simulataneus OTB chess games with averge club players. I am amazed by how GM Kasparov or Judith Polgar can beat all the opponents in short time but that is not for me. Even if it takes 2 or 3 mins for each move when you are playing 50 games it takes a lot of time and you can't do anything else. So, I have to cut down my number of chess games. When you are a team member you might think that you cannot refuse team games. This is not true. I'll show you how you can cut down your team games. Go to " TEAMS" at the task bar pull down menu above between COMPETE and CLUBS. Click on it and then you select " settings " with a wheel sign. Select the number of games you would like to play. Right now I selected " 0 " and I don't need to play any team games. I would rather like to play in mini tournament games where you can select the openings of your choice and with the players of the same ratings. If so, click on " COMPETE" and then select open mini-tournaments.

And taking it a step further-

50, 100 or more games is really nothing more than practice in how to move chess pieces.

Bruce Lee said it best:

"I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times."

EXACTLY!
Yeah that's what I noticed, a surfeit of games, particularly against similarly (Within about 200 points) ranked opponents was teaching me diddly and squat. Just working on clearing out my existing games, being mostly team games I'd be loth for myself, the intrepid captain to drop these to silly errors, and then a focus on quality over quantity.

that's two current threads that conclude with the realisation that quality beats quantity

I wonder if Russ Meyer would agree???
