Hee-hee-hee!

"...divisive political/social/sexual-orientation hypotheses..."?? Is that ever off the mark? Bless his soul, but he removed me because the GLBT thread challenged his core beliefs and attitudes. I thought the GLBT thread on the "Man's Club" was a pinnacle of irony. Let's face it, if you're going to say "Man's Club", hell the first thing that comes to mind is a gay bar. I think that GLBT thread was the best I've done so far. I'm still laughing at it.

But on a serious note. I'm attuned to GLBT issues as much as I am with issues of racism. I see both in the same light- people struggling for fairness and equal treatment. And I don't see the humor in anyone beating up on a group of people because that group isn't exactly the same as they are. And I'm terribly impressed with the rapidness that social change occurs and see humor in those stragglers who deny and even strive to undo it.

Thanks, jkarp, for the info. Hope to remain in touch.

I have posted this message in MRM's club..getting rather out of hand i feel...

I really think that this is going a bit too far MrM.
Personal attacks really have no place in a club..no matter what any one thinks about each other..
Let's all settle down and just enjoy.

I have also left the club...i am not going to partake in that sort of nonsense...rather over board...i wish him luck!

No worries bears! I'm not offended and doubt Mr.M is. It's public discourse and no more different than what went on in Greek and Roman forums, probably a hell of lot more tamer.

But, to put your anxieties to rest, I will make no further comment on the issue of the GLBT thread on the "Man's Club" (you got to admit that it's funny).  Actually I'm starting a club for serious discussion on the issue. I wish to thank Mr.M because without that interaction, I would not have taken on this task. I'll send you an invite.

And, I apologize, here. I agree and think that things went too far, as well. I just want nothing to do with it, either.

ho hum!!
And he still continues..oh well what can i say...we supported him and at the end of the day i want to enjoy this site..and have fun and the odd laugh..
Now let's get back to it..

@bears1: You're quiet, but really big. Sort of like a big cuddly bear that we all want to win at carnivals and fairs (or whatever you all call them down there). Thanks. I appreciate your support.

This is not surprising
I don't really care either way. I like most of you folks and I don't hold a grudge against anyone. But it's not like this is real life. If you are sitting at your computer and you are having extreme emotional reactions to the little symbols on your screen then you should reevaluate yourself a bit. There is nothing wrong with having emotions, obviously, but you should try to be in touch with them. They are there to guide us in our path, not to rule our bodies. Take a deep breath and really, just relax. For Mystery Science Theater 3000.

@pawnt; Wow! Are you saying that these musing are little more than junior high school chatter? If so, I'll gladly buy you a drink. What do you drink?

Apology to Bears1, dbf1 and Team Triton
Recently I propagated an unfounded rumour about one of Team Triton's members in a private message to another GK captain. That captain subsequently published it on his club forum. It was stupid and thoughtless of me to have sent this rumour around in the first place and I am truly sorry for the dispersion it may have placed upon bears1, dbf1,or Team Triton. I have no reason to believe that the rumour is true and certainly no evidence. It is nothing more than a rumour. Since the rumour became public, I think it fitting that my apology also be public.

JC
I had thought "high-school shenanigans" at first, but it seems that this may be a grown man.

BTW, I could be wrong, but I just checked, and I think that GK deleted that club.

Yes, Mr.M's Man Club is now inactive. It seems there is a finite number of abuse reports that GK tolerates.
