@stinky
Christ doesn't, but the bulk of organized "Christian" religions do: Catholics (Crusades is a good example, 30 Years War), Protestants (30 years war, most modern wars), Mormons (The Mormon Brigade in the 1800s). Luceriferian all.

Peet here is making a great distinction between the "religion" which Jesus Christ wrought when He (Jesus is God) gave the Disciples the mandate to spread His Gospel through the world and that which passes for "Christianity" for the most part today. Especially note that which was instituted back when Constantine organized in uniting the various pagan and Christian peoples. These were man-made organizations as opposed to churches who main purpose is to obey Biblical doctrines and be led by following the Holy Spirit. A great part of the problem today is folks will not truly apply themselves to obeying Biblical doctrines as Paul the Apostle tried to get his churches to do. Paul always said "Follow me as I follow Christ". That would be a good rule of thumb today! Instead folks get wrapped up in following traditions of various denominations or charismatic speakers or even political leaders.

The Gospel of Douglas Barry is not such a one as these. Constantine tried to get Doug to alter a few things here and there but Doug told him to back off. Actually, postalpeet is right about most of what he said. Particularly the part about Constantine. dok long live DOUG!

(The truths which Douglas Barry is disseminating are easily verified by looking up his premises in any Greek dictionary. Doctor Barry is contemporary with anyone living TODAY. Which means the previous submission is nonsense because Constantine lived what - nearly 2000 years ago?)

Applying Biblical truths...
A major hindrance regarding the application of Biblical truths comes from our weakness towards getting "affirmation" or "acceptance" with those we come in contact on a daily basis. Folks have "developed" a radar which let's us know that those we work with, or go to school with, or who live in our neighborhoods - a radar which let's us know that others perceive us as "acceptable". Jesus early on warned about this "radar" being a hindrance in our believing in Him in John 5:44; "How can ye believe, which receive honour of one another, and seek not the honour that commeth from God?" This is kind of like the admonition to either serve God or mammon. Or being double minded. Many other injunctions are available. The bottom line is who or what are we living for?
