![]() Seriously, I am confused and concerned why anyone would advocate for “open borders”. Could somebody please explain what the benefits are? I have itemized several times what some of the drawbacks are, and I’ll do it again if need be. Those in favor of open borders please explain WHY and itemize the benefits. There has been a lot of criticism when I advocate for closing the border, so please explain the benefits of an open border. |

![]() Our guests would need to have a visa and valid passport, etc; and they would need to submit to an investigation before we opened our (secure) gates to them. Isn't this the internationally accepted protocol for border crossings anyway? The problem is that we officially "opened our borders" for commerce and the fat-cats, and it is now a proven failure and security issue. It's gotten way out of hand! We know that our southern borders have always been inadequate for keeping the unwanted out and we need to fix that. We know that the mechanics of securing our borders will be difficult and expensive, but we believe that it is necessary and worth the effort. |

![]() Seriously? You really think that...as evidenced by what exactly? I realize the answer will take us off topic...but I don't see any real reasons for an open border. dok |
