What does this mean? 5
Matthew 24:37-39The Voice (VOICE)
37 As it was at the time of Noah, so it will be with the coming of the Son of Man. 38 In the days before the flood, people were busy making lives for themselves: they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, making plans and having children and growing old, until the day Noah entered the ark. 39 Those people had no idea what was coming; they knew nothing about the floods until the floods were upon them, sweeping them all away. That is how it will be with the coming of the Son of Man.
Luke 17:28-30The Voice (VOICE)
28 It was just the same in the days of Lot. People were eating, drinking, buying, selling, planting, building, and carrying on business as usual. 29 But then came the day when Lot left Sodom—a different kind of rain began to fall, and they were all destroyed by fire and sulfur falling from the sky.30 That’s how it will be on the day when the Son of Man is revealed.
2 Peter 3:3-7Easy-to-Read Version (ERV)
3 It is important for you to understand what will happen in the last days. People will laugh at you. They will live following the evil they want to do. 4 They will say, “Jesus promised to come again. Where is he? Our fathers have died, but the world continues the way it has been since it was made.”
5 But these people don’t want to remember what happened long ago. The skies were there, and God made the earth from water and with water. All this happened by God’s word. 6 Then the world was flooded and destroyed with water. 7 And that same word of God is keeping the skies and the earth that we have now. They are being kept to be destroyed by fire. They are kept for the day of judgment and the destruction of all people who are against God.
Revelation 22:11Easy-to-Read Version (ERV)
11 Let anyone who is doing wrong continue to do wrong. Let anyone who is unclean continue to be unclean. Let anyone who is doing right continue to do right. Let anyone who is holy continue to be holy.”

Thats sweet of you.

So, the people here that you don't know could be doing right ---well, you don't let them alone. even though you should.

As the time gets shorter and shorter for the return of Jesus Christ. the world is going into total chaos. All that He said would happen is happening. All that was begun since the Day of His Resurrection is happening. From how He said those that followed Him would be treated. How those that would be offended because of His Word. That those that preach and obey His Word would offend and be offended. To how He said those that reject The Salvation that He offers would act. That the people of the world would do the same as those in the world. That rejected the simple message, that Noah preached. To all those that he knew and those he did not know. When he preached the same message over and over for 120 years. God said, " it is going to rain!" Only eight listened. I wondered how many that knew or did not know him? As it began to rain. Regretted their decision and tried to climb aboard the ark, after the door was closed. As God began to pour out His Wrath with the rain.
So in that sense you are right. Many of you are doing what He said you would do. Those that know Him are obeying all that He said. Those that reject what He said. Are rejecting Him as He said you would. All of you that take issue with The Word Of God, or those that are speaking it. Do not know or do not care to know the cost of sin. Should remember one very important point. Jesus said................
Matthew 4:4King James Version (KJV)
4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
Which is a message to all that know and do not know Him. Even the one who was tempting Him, had to shut up and move on, to a different approach.

That's what they have been saying forever. If Jesus ever will return then is a fact that the time until then is getting shorter and shorter. However, many interpretations would say that Jesus should have already returned. Many reasonable people have no expectation that such a thing will ever happen.

Wouldn't it be better if we did our best in this world and not wait for Jesus to return ?

You are right this is what the unbelievers and doubters have been saying for over 2000 years. What you are saying is what they have been saying before Christ was first here. Reason this, is the life in this world getting better? If our best was good enough, there would be no need for Christ and The Salvation that God offers. If our best was good enough there would be no need for us to obey God's Commandments. If our best was good enough, then God would not be pouring out His wrath, upon the world. In fact is your best good enough to please God?
One must remember also The Word clearly answers your statement....................
2 Peter 3:3-10King James Version (KJV)
3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

God wants all of mankind to come to Christ. Christ is the ark of Salvation. All that come to him are under His protection. All that come to Him, have recognized and come to the conclusion. that their best is not enough to please God.
