"Life is good" moments
The other day as I was eating a snickers bar and checkmating someone I thought "Life is good"

Have you had chess moments where you thought the same. It's just a rush to checkmate after a hard, long game, but it's not happening often for me, I admit....as friend pointed out the other day, my graph looks like I play chess from a roller coaster. Ha!

My granddaughter and I hugged yesterday for a long time and I thought "Life is good",

Teaching my 8 yr old grandson chess and he asks in an unsure voice "Checkmate?" And it was.
"Life is good"

We all have those moments (I HOPE YOU DO!) and it's what keeps us going, they recharge our batteries. Not all of our revolve around chess of course, but it sure doesn't hurt a thing!

Have you had a moment like that recently?

Checkmate
Each time I checkmate someone, I think life is good. A few games ago, I was able to use my Queen as bait for a trap. He fell for it and in the next move I checkmated him with my Rook. Life was VERY good as he was playing quite aggressively at the start of the game.

After this semester at school is over, and I take a break from my studies, life will be good. I'll be able to breathe again for a few months.

Each time I travel to a new place, each time my husband and I takeoff in our airplane, I think life is good.

When one of my cats wants to cuddle-- life is good!

Bravo for the thought out win... Sounds like an interesting game!

You have a plane AND a cat that cuddles!!!! Wished my cat would cuddle... he acts like he's 104, healthy tho, but finicky now... will only eat baby food and a little hard food. (Teeth have been well cared for)...but skinny little snob doesnt have much to do with us unless he wants groomed, or the bathtub water on so he can drink.

Enjoy those moments, those sound like good ones.

good moments and cats
Ah, some cat-lovers! I belong to the "Cats Whiskers" club on another site where three of us take turns bragging (or complaining) about our cats. The lady is from Australia, and the gentleman is from Canada. That is the only reason I stay in an almost moribund club! But, my blue tabby snuggles with me all night long. If it is cold outside, the tighter he gets. If it is hot, he lies on the windowsill to catch any cool wafts of air. My husband adores Toby, but kitty has chosen me to sleep with. Good moments? I love to rise at dawn and see the sun rise over the pond across the road from our house in the country. The beautiful red or gold sky is reflected there. I say my thanks and give my requests while looking at this blessing from God. Right now, my main prayer is for my grandson in the heat of a Texas Air Force boot camp.

Audry
Texas IS hot right bow, we are hot in Oklahoma also...but some showers have been passing through on their way south. Maybe he's getting some relief too.

Cats are so fun, each one has their own distinct personality and some are downright mean. Ive got a tabby who is easy going and loves to be petted (for a bit). When she's had enough, she doesnt just walk away, she slaps your hand with claws out! She thinks nothing of it either... just keeps doing it after a good petting. Crazy cat that she is.

Your cat sounds a lot nicer!

cats
Well, not really. Toby has some very bad traits when he wants attention. Since he never goes outside, I realize that he is bored. I have had antique glassware smashed, pots of plants tipped over, and have had to put up with him on the kitchen counter. He strolls across it to get from one window to another. If he decides that I should go to bed, he gets angry if I turn on the computer instead, and glares at me. He used to stand up and give me a nip on the arm. He is getting a little better in the latter trait.

He was literally raised in a barn. I got him when he was less than a year old, but had no house-training. He was smart enough to learn to use the litter box and to open a door that was unlatched, in only one lesson, however.

Crazy cat lady....
.... 'tis I. I have eleven.

Yes, I like cats. Sometimes. You can't give a cat a time out for misbehaving.

Toby
Yes, he has me well-trained. This morning he woke me too early in the middle of an interesting dream. He wanted his grass. It is something I get him first thing after the sun comes up. So...out I go in my nightgown and bare feet to get His Lordship his grass. I have to spell that word when telling my husband about it, because as soon as I say "grass" he meows and goes to the door.(Toby, that is). Thank the Lord we live out in the country where no one can see me!

LOL!! How funny ! Someone elses pet is outragiously pampered too.
My Male (Sam) goes to the bathroom and howls until I go turn the tub on at a trickle so he can drink. He wont share a water bowl with the dogs (only reason I can think of)... but he will go out and find old yucky water outside and start drinking. Ugh... crazy cat & HIGH MAINTENANCE!

We had a cat named Sami...usually called Sam. He was a blue-point Siamese that someone dumped in our driveway the night before Thanksgiving. Snowbanks everywhere. He was so afraid that he would not come to the door. But we saw these big tracks in the snow for that long. One day I was calling our little blue-cream female to come in, and this big tomcat comes onto the porch instead and lays his head on my foot. He stayed well into his old-age. He might have been two years old when we got him.

So you didnt find your Sam, he found you! Those usually make the best of pets when that happens! Our Sam is a Siamese/Persian.... his nose is so flat I have to keep the food peeked up like a little mountain so he can eat.

The things we do for our babies, wouldnt trade them for anything tho.

Astounding. All cats kill by suffocating their prey. I am very surprised that this little fellow was saved by the herd of water buffalo. Notice how there is safety in numbers, and they did not present a flank or rear to be exposed...just that ring of horns. I so dislike our pack of coyotes...they were howling last night again, but the night before last I could hear the sounds they make when they kill one of our deer. Did I say kill? The wretches hamstring a deer and just start eating.

audrey;;we have howling here too!!
its from 'coy dogs' a genetic mingling of dogs and coyotes. A little larger then a coyote, but smaller then a large dog. They hunt Deer also. But i would rather have them eat the Deer and feed there pups then the trophy hunters that come to shoot them. There are plenty of Deer. I noticed that you hail from north Dakota!!,a Beautiful state. You have Brown Bear i believe yes? We have only Black. I really wish we had Brown Bear. It is nice to see the prey escape!!!
