zombieslayer1 13-Aug-12, 07:14	Favorite Openings I'm curious-- what is your favorite opening? When I was working with the coach of my previous team, he had me choose an opening and play it every time so I'd know it inside and out. I chose the English Opening because it is not as commonly used as other openings. At least, not as commonly used with players around my rating. Beyond that, I'm still studying the intricacies of it to determine WHY I like it so much. I think it's because depending on how you play it, it takes a good and quick stance at the middle of the board as well as creates an interesting pawn structure. (Sorry for the lack of a more technical understanding and appreciation of the opening-- I'm still a novice). What are your thoughts on openings?
brigadecommander 13-Aug-12, 07:30	Queens pawn as white and the Dutch or Lopez as black. i like d4 as white. And as black if my opponent plays e4, i play e4 and if d4, i play f5(the dutch)
