OPPOSITE COLOURED BISHOPS!
Hi everyone!

I have finally annotated a game after many months! After covering pawn endings in my Soooo Close to an Expert Victory thread I thought I would start one about piece endings. One very interesting piece ending is that of bishops of opposite colours and a lot of these endings end in draws. Why is this? Well, maybe the following annotated game will help unravel this particular mystery.

I hope you all have a good read.

Bye for now.

I'll definitely look at this later today or tomorrow. The story is, similar to you, I've been very busy these days. That's caused me to be less active here, but things are starting to change. And, as of now, they're not quite as busy. Therefore, I'll have a look once time allows. I've been finding time to annotate games, but I'm interested in what this game holds, Joann.

In fact, I have added comments to that annotation. As usual, I enjoyed your annotation, Joann.

Another opposite bishop's game
….. of which I conceded a low draw. My opponent was Bob Jacobs whose rating was in the 1600s. I was a pawn up in this game but could not make headway. This is the game.

Do you agree with my statement?

Please advise.

I see no way to make progress.

I agree
at this point in the game I agree, I took a look back at the game while you both had Rooks and I think your Black Pawn on b might of been able to promote to Q only till it was take by the White Bishop. Then You may of gotten a win it was near a e.p move I think.

As the question from this position, I see no way to make any progress.
