 Snowballs
Over the last week most of the UK has been covered in snow, this has led a group of friends and I to ponder the following important point:
Imagine the scene. You are walking home one day when suddenly you feel a thud on your back and you turn around to find three or four kids throwing snowballs at you. The question is, what is the correct thing to do in this situation? Should you be adult and boring about this and just ignore it and walk on? Does your inner kid find the challenge irresistible and you get involved in a snowball fight? The problems that we came up with in accepting the challenge were that although we would be outnumbered our accuracy would probably be much better. The real downside would be the difficulty and time taken up (loss of tempo) in bending down and straightening up again in order to get more ammunition. We concluded that the correct thing to do would be to accept and hope that other adults might join in on your side.
Does anyone have any views or advice on this matter?

If it were me....
i would attack with repeated volleys of my own. Targeting the leader especially. Close the distance between the Enemy snowball throwers so i would be right in the middle of them. The advantage of numbers then fails in the face of the bold. In in essence i love snowball fights!!!.
PS;this is similar to how Alexander the Great conducted the Battle of Gaugamela.

Military Tactics
I think that deep down we all still love snowball fights. I can see now why you are the Brigade Commander. The idea of applying military tactics to a snowball fight is very interesting and certainly something that I will pass on. So it is good to control the centre then? This reminds me of another game we all know and love.

ahhhhh...no one threw snow balls at the Hoky kids!An old town i lived in when I was young in Pa.I was in a gang that everyone feared.If you threw a snow ball at me(or someone in my gang) one of 3 things would happen.A snow ball would be thrown back at you WITH A ROCK inside!Or a wooden wash prop would be hurdled at you like a spear or you would be chased down and given a cherry belly!Whats a cherry belly?Thats stones or crab apples pushed all around and rubbed in violently on your stomach with your shirt pushed up until you are all red and lumpy in the stomach!No,i'm not joking either!

Napoleon...
... yes, THAT Napoleon, as a kid used to conduct snowball fights at his ecole, legend has it. In the movie 'Napoleon' that was made when cinemascope was still in its infancy (a 4-hour, headache inducing movie with the cinematic bit right at the end) the snowball fight gets transformed into a pillow fight. Quite where the burgeoning military genius was manifested in this feather blizzard, I never did discover.
