Different Ratings
When I play chess, I generally like to make improvements. Now, I have not competed in any OTB, as of the moment. I have, however played a few OTB games, but they were basically training games with the exceptions of coaching games against Jack Stockel. In the past, I've played a lot of non computer chess games, but not once a week, until I meat my coach. Now, I can only base things on my ELO rating because of what I mentioned in my second sentence. Here's a thing, however, I spoke to my Jack about my rating from computer, and he said that USCF ratings will determine where you rank more then ELO rankings, but both are pretty accurate.

Joining a chess club,Joe might just be the ticket you need to improve, even beyond Jacks help.It improved my game dramatically over the years with different levels of players OTB,visiting GM's and more.I always suggest joining a club to all.

Oh and JKarp,
Since you are a US citizen(which would apply more to the USCF) and since there are many more opportunities to get a more accurate handle on your rating through the USCF(events, tourneys, clubs) compared to and FIDE/ELO and what have you....then yes,Jack was correct.

Even the Marshall Club is only about 45 min away from you.Lots of OTB players there.
