Situation - any changes or comments?

Not from me.

I would like to switch to e6 and then c5 that was proposed by stal.

OK, we will move 2. ...c5

It's probably not unreasonable to assume that they will either play 3.c4 or 3.d5. Is it worth thinking about how we'd want to reply?

3. c4 and we could either consider 3...cxd4, attacking their centre as threatened or 3...e6 preparing 4...d5

3. d5 and we either consider 3...e6 continuing to undermine the centre or 3...b5 expanding on the queenside.

Well, it seems that a monitor is not needed at all
Take a close look at the time I posted this, because it will be the last
I will post for this game.

From now on, the two captains will show the board post the moves, each team has
decided to move.

I will no longer be involved in this one, or if there is a second game like this to
give the Trump team the first move, i will leave it up to stal and ipsi.

I am not upset, I just do not understand why there is so much disagreement
with the way this consultation game was being run.

Good luck, may the best team win.

The O-team moved 3. d5

to yield this position

I suggest that we move 3. ...e6 to immediately challenge the forward nosy pawn

How about 3...b5 ?
White's d5 pawn is a nuisance now. It restricts Black's development. How can we get rid of it ? Stalh's original assessment ...e6 followed by ...d5 was much better but its too late now. I suggest 3...b5. If you accept this move it will be a wild game since we are like going into uncharted sea.

I'm happy with either move I suggested.

3...b5 is hardly unchartered though. There are >1500 games in the GK world database   The most likely continuation is 4.Bg5 and then we have to choose between 4...Ne4, 4...Qb6 and 4...d6.

3...e6 is likely met by 4.c4 or 4.Nc3.

ace: 3. ...b5
5imon: 3. ..b5 or 3. ...e6
me: 3. ..e6

we would still like feisty's vote ---please! And may be a final vote from 5imon

If we move 3...e6, White can still advance 4. d5 to d6 without eating e6. How can we stop this terrorist pawn in time since we will lag behind in tempo and development ? If so, 3....d6 be a better choice ? I am not sure. I just want your opinions. If somebody can explain the advantage of move 3. ...e6, I will go for it but you have to show me how to respond to White's possible next two moves, either 4 .d6 or d x e6. I suspect that White will prefer 4 d6 move.

Look at the position after White's 4. d6 move. The two Black bishops are trapped by this d6 pawn. The idea of 3 ...b6 is to liberate the pieces and develop from the queen side.
stalhandske

ace
3. ...e6 is a typical move in the modern Benoni defense

en.wikipedia.org

and immediately challenges white's pawn at d5

If 3. ...e6
4. d6? then 4. ...Ne4! and black stands better.

If 3. ...d6
4. c4 and black's position becomes difficult

Therefore, it is better to "clean up" the centre immediately

Hind side shows that Black can still balance the position by 4..... Ne4 and attack the d6 pawn. The position is about equal or Black may be better because White ahs no defense for this d6 pawn. I can go along with 3...e6 pawn.

Ace's 2nd comment (with the graph) appeared before I posted the above. In Ace's graph, which is the position after

3. ...e6
4. d6

Black simply moves

4. ...Ne4! and stands far better!
Whatever white does, that d6 pawn falls!

Let's go with 3...e6

Obama finally moved 4. c4
New position

our move!

26-Nov-17, 20:37

I suggest a typical Trump attack by the ultra-right flank,

4. ...b5!
5imon
27-Nov-17, 01:35

4...b5
Sounds good. B is for Breitbart.

We could also follow through with the previous threat and play exd5 but I suspect that is coming soon enough anyway.

Where is the rest of the Trump cabinet? Being interviewed about connections with Russia?

Not a bad move.

Trump decided to move 4. ...b5

new position

We were late, I had to make the move without ace's input

06-Dec-17, 00:33

I vote 5...fxe6, giving us more central pawns.

Letting them exchange queens after dxe6 looks horrible with our king in the centre and an open file.
stalhandske
06-Dec-17, 02:53

Again, I agree with you. 5. ...fxg6 is the only feasible move!
feisty-feline
06-Dec-17, 23:15

vote5.fxe6
Any other move is wrong
stalhandske
11-Dec-17, 08:54

OK, so we'll make that move
stalhandske
14-Dec-17, 21:44

Obama moved cxb5
Current position

Trump team to move!
5imon
15-Dec-17, 01:44

I like 6...a6 to blow everything open.

but perhaps 6...d5 would be the more sensible choice?
