A player can can change the move ?
I believe so. Most of you including me will be familiar with the major defense openings move sequence. It does not matter whether you play French or other defense systems. We have to be also familiar with transpositions. As I said before, White will have a strong pawn chain d4- e5 if Black don't tackle it from the beginning and the best way to break the pawn chain is by Black's c 5 next move. If majority agrees, I will vote for c4. My second choice is e4 which can lead to French.

The difference is winnnig percentages for white with either move are virtually identical. So I will go with eiither choice based on what stronger players decide.

C4 is a good choice. We can play English opening which is aka reversed Sicilian. Opening is just the beginning. We should not think too much since we are playing book moves. The real excitement will come in the middle game.

I vote c4 it’s consistent with queen pawn game
|
|
I agree
I also will support c4 and is my vote I agree with ace, this is book so far and looking forward to the middle game.
|
|
On the list of votes
I know I am not very important, but I did not see my my name on the list on the vote for c4. Maybe because I was the first to vote for c4 but anyway, it seems to me that the majority vote is for c4, so I do not see a big problem if the rest of the team members do not care to vote.

My mistake
Sorry Julio, Martin

I was actually think of the french tarracsh varation. 1. d4 e6 2. e4 d5 3. Ne2!? c5 4. Ngf3 Nc6 5. exd5 exd5 6. Bb5 Those are the votes that Martin wrote that are needed. On 21-Nov-17, 23:38 So as I see it, all votes are in.

Black has played 2...f5
This of course Is the Dutch defense. There are several ways for white to continue. I list them below in the order of good results for white. 3.g3 3.Nc3 3.Nf3 These moves are 93% of the continuations. The following moves actually are questionable: 3.e3? 3.a3? 3.Bf4? Please note that the latter is the beginning of the so-called Dangerfield attack which is liked by some players but does not occur very often in master play. The top three moves are actually all good but if we get into the seldom played moves we are on shaky ground. Martin

My vote is 3.g3
but I am open to your opinion. Please vote! Martin

My vote: 3. g3 . We can fight Dutch with English.

G3
yes g3 looking a good choice for me too
|
|
The idea of g3 is to fianchetto white's bishop on g2, Nf3 and then castling on Queen side. This will complete the opening moves and will be in middle game.

?
I would definitely advise against O-O-O given our pawn structure
