I like 6. ...a6, too, and it would be more in line with "our sponsor"
stalhandske
16-Dec-17, 20:16

feisty-feline and ace-of-aces: please, give your votes
ace-of-aces
17-Dec-17, 14:09

I prefer 6....a6 but how white will be one pawn ahead. Will there be any compensation ? by having advance in development ? The alternative is 6...Qa5+. If White defend with 7 Nc3. then 7....d5 and then attqck White's N on c3.

OK, we'll have to move, and

6. ...a6 seems to be it
feisty-feline
18-Dec-17, 22:25

vote a6
follow the leader
5imon
18-Dec-17, 23:53

Am I the leader? That doesn't bode well!
stalhandske
19-Dec-17, 04:50

No, I am the leader
5imon
19-Dec-17, 05:19

Stal
You're the captain but a6 was my suggestion first
stalhandske
19-Dec-17, 05:49

5imon
No, it was mine...I thought of it long before you put pencil to paper, and if you disagree you will be FIRED!!
5imon
19-Dec-17, 06:22

I'm happy to continue following from the front, oh mighty leader
stalhandske

COVFEFE!!
Nice!

20-Dec-17, 23:33

Obama moved, new position

suggestions, please!
5imon
20-Dec-17, 23:36

7...d5
Time to claim some space in the centre.
stalhandske
20-Dec-17, 23:50

7. ...Bxa6
I think we need to do that first
5imon
21-Dec-17, 00:06

The only downside I see with 7...Bxa6 is that after 8.g3 d5 9. Bh3 then we have to be slightly re-active as the bishop no longer protects e6.

It seems to me that we can pick off the a6 pawn whenever we like. If they try to protect it with 8.e3 then a) we can still take it and b) they've put a piece in the way of the c1 bishop.
stalhandske
23-Dec-17, 05:37

...but after 7. ...Bxa6: 8. g3 we need not (should not) yet play d5, but the solid

8. ...Be7!

d5 comes in due time, but we need to "protect our back" before doing it!

We now badly need the votes from
feisty-feline and ace-of-aces!
stalhandske
23-Dec-17, 23:08

We must make the move! We have only two proposals, 5imons 7....d5 and my 7. ...Bxa6

I decide for the latter
stalhandske
24-Dec-17, 23:03

Obama played 8. g3
New position

Our Trump team to move
stalhandske
24-Dec-17, 23:04

I propose 8. ....Nc6
A natural developing move. Be7 had been that, too, but I think we should develop the Q side first now as White is about to fianchetto their LSB.
5imon
24-Dec-17, 23:26

8...Nc6
Yes, I agree.
stalhandske
24-Dec-17, 23:28

We would now like the votes from feisty-feline and ace-of-aces
ace-of-aces
25-Dec-17, 19:11

I prefer 8 ...Nc6
feisty-feline
25-Dec-17, 22:03

Vote 8...Nc6
A very good choice
stalhandske
25-Dec-17, 22:05

OK, we'll make the move 8. ...Nc6, by unanimous vote!
Nice
stalhandske
28-Dec-17, 07:09

Obama played 9. Bb2

New position

Our move (Trump team)
ace-of-aces
28-Dec-17, 10:24

I vote 9...Be7. Beware that we are one pawn deficient. White has 6 pawns and Black has 5 pawns.
feisty-feline
28-Dec-17, 10:27

Vote 9.......Be7
to prepare for 0-0
stalhandske
28-Dec-17, 20:41

I think 9. ...Be7 is an excellent move. 9. ...d5 may be an alternative, followed by Bb7 later (e.g. next move). Yes, we are 1 pawn down, but our position is very much better, which - I think - pretty much compensates for the material. We pretty much dominate the centre, for example and are also otherwise better developed.
LETS MAKE THE BLACK PIECES GREAT AGAIN!
5imon
29-Dec-17, 00:45

9...d5
is my choice again
stalhandske
29-Dec-17, 00:49

The situation is

9. ...Be7 (ace-of aces and feisty-feline)
9. ...d5 (5imon and stalhandske)

Anyone wants to change?
