Man Food
Chili is a pretty manly food, especially when it's spicy. I for one have been craving a massive bowl of chili fries every time that I see "chilliman".

A nearly raw, Flinstones size steak that overhangs the side of a plate strikes me as the manliest food item out there.

Steak would have to be #1 on the man food list.
When my wife eats steak it's so rare a good veterinarian could bring it back to life. Mine has to be medium.

I must say that the very best man food is what you kill/catch yourself... usually eaten outdoors.

hey tat,

in Oz we call hot peppers 'chillies' that is why I chose the nic that I did. I love any hot spicy food. mostly the asian cuisines but I just add chillies to anything I eat. love it!

<When my wife eats steak it's so rare a good veterinarian could bring it back to life.>

Reminds of that old one:
Waiter: "How would you like your steak sir?"
Man: " Knock it's horns off, wipe its bum and stick it on the plate"

Seriously, "man food" is whatever I feel like eating at any time of the day or night, wearing as much or as little I want and sitting, standing or laying down wherever the hell I feel like!!!!! ....there are no rules

maybe not manly but it's a meal, ma'am
fat makes me sleepy. There are only 2 foods I have found I can eat at lunch that won't make me sleepy. They are:

1) a small dish of dried chili peppers

Or,

2) Moon Pies

Together? -- that's dinner.

Chili,

I too normally like a degree of spicy food, but even more so now that I am pregnant. My husband loves spicy food so perhaps one or both of the girls will take after him in that respect. Though I'm guessing both, because they are genetically identical so I'm assuming they will like the same things? Anyway, I've had a compelling urge to put crushed red pepper and hot sauce on all kinds of things, and crave spicy and very salty things. I ate two orders of hot lamb vindaloo yesterday for lunch and a bag of jalapeño potato chips for breakfast the other day. I've gone through a few bottles of sriracha sauce and cleaned out the obscure hot sauce bottles that were on a shelf in the pantry. Like, for instance, habanero hot sauce is excellent on rosemary ham. I killed a pound of ham one time as a snack that way.

Also I eat fries with sriracha sauce now, not ketchup. So tasty.

I don't have cravings for "stereotypical" pregnancy food like chocolate. Chocolate actually made me nauseous for a while there. My husband bought me a case of chocolate bars with chili peppers in the chocolate because he thought I'd love them but the smell made me retch.

As far as I know, dried red chili peppers are the only readily available dried condiment peppers available here. Is that what you're talking about or do you have a few different kinds to choose from down unda?????

Chilliman.............
Take crunchy peanut butter, grape jam, a fresh jalepeno pepper, dried red pepper flakes and bread.

Make a peanut butter and jam sandwich BUT, slice jalepeno pepper rings and place them on the peanut butter, then sprinkle red pepper flakes on the jam before you put the two pieces of bread together. You're welcome.

More spicy snack ideas
I've also made a really good dip out of Greek yogurt, can of chipotles in adobo sauce, a fresh bonnet pepper and a food processor. It was really good with pita chips.

Also I've split a bunch of jalepenos, filled them with pepper jack and then baked them for 20 mins. Topped them with sriracha sauce. Very tasty snack.

nice recipes tat - you can wrap the jalapeno poppers in bacon before you bake them for an extra manly boost

I will definitely be doing that!   Thanks for the suggestion.

Everything tastes better wrapped in bacon.

My wife makes bacon wrapped scallops with red pepper sauce. Good stuff.

I had a rack of ribs and bacon cheeseburger pie for dinner. The bacon cheeseburger pie was given to me so I do not have a recipe, but this life changing casserole consists of: a bottom layer of seasoned ground beef, crumbled bacon and what looked like diced jarred jalapeno's. This was followed by a thin layer of cheddar cheese, then a layer of tater tots, topped with more cheese, scallions, bacon, red onion and diced red bell pepper. The whole thing was baked so that somehow the tater tots were crispy and all the cheese was melted.

Tried some sweet baby rays BBQ sauce with my ribs. It was pretty good.

No problem.....I'm researching " Tater tots" as we speak....seems it's US for fried potato pieces.....those wacky Americans with their exotic ethnic foods!!,

@spud, those devilsh tater tots, an ultimate comfort food
as constructed for mouth feel, it's the tater equivalent of a Belgian chocolate:

the baked, tater tot is round like a cushion built for the tongue, with a crunchy skin you sink yore teeth into--
and then get drenched with that hot, soft, comforting center which, by the way it melts on your tongue,
leaving you with just a morsel of satisfaction, makes you want more -- a frantic want which knows only one answer:
the only way to respond to that temptation is to surrender.

It was a poetic soliloquy regarding the crunchy, yet soft explosive yummy goodness of Tater Tots. I normally prefer French fries, but it really made me want to run out and buy some Tater Tots.

@chilli
One would believe that in Oz you have the concept of ‘no punishment without law’ ,
meaning one can neither be prosecuted nor punished for an action that was not a crime,
not against any law at the time when it occurred.
mistee
18-Mar-14, 15:07

Never mind...
That's not the one he deleted. I'm still stuck on that erotic description of Tater Tots.

Carry on.

Future punishments...
@chilli, since the new law was adopted after the infraction... well, ya know.

Future offenses shall require Shamash to reveal facts about himself that us Human folk can understand and decipher w/out too much reliance on science, history and literature.
