Mr. M's Man Club Employee of the Month Award:
I realize there is still another day left in the month of January (at least in my time zone) and I was going to save this announcement until tomorrow.

However, I've decided to issue a preemptive trophy and bestow this high honor in advance; a Man Club first.

Without question and/or any hesitation whatsoever, I am proud to announce that Mistee takes this title in striking fashion.

Congratulations Mistee on obtaining the January, 2014, Mr. M's Man Club Employee of the Month Award.

A job well done! Keep them prenatal stories coming!

I am truly honored!
Thank you! I am honored to be the recipient of the first ever Mr. M's Man Club Employee of the Month Award!

I would like to thank Mr. M (of course!), all the members of Mr. M's Man Club, and I would especially like to thank Warren, without whom this award would not be possible.

Thank you!

I'm going to list this honor on my profile page!

I tell ya
I may as well close-up Man Shop now, because I don't think last night can be topped... I almost cracked a rib from the absurdity of it all as I was consumed by uncontrollable fits of laughter.

Penndan: I would like to trade in my Manhattan parking space for a Metrocard, please.

Chili and OP: Thank you very much. I shall do my best to uphold this great honor until February's winner is announced.

Mr. M: Don't close up shop! This is the best club on GK. I'm having a blast getting in touch with my masculine side.

Mistee
Much like Brandt, in The Big Lebowski, as he is showing The Dude a wall of achievements, he makes it clear that the Man of the Year award is not necessarily given out on an annual basis.

One must rise 'above and beyond.' February is a mystery and not guaranteed to produce a decisive winner.

I've got to admit that I've read the Warren story a half dozen times. In fact, the next time I have to get a prostate exam, I'm probably going to look back over my shoulder to make sure Warren is not there...........watching--------------------lol

Without question
Shamash wins February... He is the recipient of the Man Club Employee of the Month Award, February 2014.

Hands down.

Congrats, Shamash.

I agree, good choice.

I find it interesting that my two favorite Manly Man posters are women, one of whom is pregnant.

WTF? My foundations are being shaken...

Congrats, Shamash! You know you have to post this honor on your profile page, right?

And Mr. M...thank you for coming back to announce the winner. I look forward to when you're back full time.

Onepocket...personally, I'm learning a lot about what it takes to be a Manly Man. The members of this club are the Manliest Men I've had the pleasure of knowing.

Just know this, oh pregnant one...
No man ever born could stand the pain of having a baby.

The author, Dave Barry, said it best when he held up a straw in one hand & a bowling ball in the other. "See if you can get this... through this"

I had a badly abscessed molar once - it was more pain than I thought I could bare. I eventually had it extracted once the antibiotics worked, essentially it was an anaesthetic-free extraction until the root was exposed, only then did the dentist give me pain killers.

if childbirth hurts more than that then I cannot understand why you would do it more than once.

I'm pretty nervous. This is my first pregnancy so I've never done it before. They make you watch birth movies at the hospital childbirth classes. My husband and I decided that attending was a mistake as we are now scarred for life. When we were touring a hospital, a woman in our group asked if they have a mirror so that she can see her baby being born. I felt like a terrible mother because I don't even want to be there for my own labor and delivery, nevermind watch it!

The only thing that makes me more nervous than childbirth is having a C-section. There is something terrifying about being paralyzed but awake, while be operated on. I totally understand that sometimes they are necessary but I would like to avoid it if at all possible.

My doctor requires an epidural for multiples. I decided not to ask why!

But I told him to do whatever he needs to do even if it's painful. Babies health is number one, avoiding a C-section is number 2. Though perhaps when I am actually in labor a C-section won't seem so bad anymore!

I have been
through 4 normal births and 1 C-section. Got another scheduled C-section on March 13th.
C-section is a breeze if its scheduled. Last one was emergency. Recovery time is longer of course.

Apparently if the second baby isn't in the right position my doctor is going to have to stick his hand up there and move her. I'm guessing this is probably uncomfortable. Supposedly there are a few things that can make it impossible for him to successfully do this, requiring an emergency C-section.

I'm really hoping these two can do me a solid and make sure they are in the right place.

Stinky, congrats that you made it through so many births! I'm sure you're a pro. And, congrats on your new up and coming little one!

I've still got a couple months to go, assuming I make it that long. I'm really trying to not move as much as possible and drink nutrition shakes nonstop but I'm starting to lose it. Between the not doing anything to the fact that I'm starting to look like Cartman on Weight Gain 2000, it's tough.

Onepocket- thanks for your compliment!

bravo Sir Shamash!

this makes me ask - should the monthly winners be accorded a special title during their month of glory so any time they are written to/about you use the title instead of their name? ? something like, The Exalted One, The Legend, EOTM etc?

personally, I like The Exalted One.

seriously dude,
I think it is a stretch comparing the winner of a Silver Star or Navy Cross to the MMMC Employee Of The Month Award

I think superfluous puffery is entirely appropriate
