time to plan
the pieces are developed the Kings are castled so now time to pause and make a plan. Simplest way to start on this is to lok at strengths/weaknesses on both sides. Then see if advantage can be gained/lost from these. eg whites Q-pawn being isolated is a weakness. The diagonal a6-f1 is just crying out for a black B to control it. Im sure you can see many others. Having made a plan then look to see which moves fit in with this. for that diagonal then Ba6 works. whites dsb is a nuisance so start an attack on it with Nh5. just some thoughts to get the discussion going

15...Nd5
Is there anything wrong with 15..Nd5? It forces trades, which is good for Black. Other knight moves don't blockade the IQP.

Nd5
leads to Qd3 threatening mate and forcing g6 Bg3 planning to come to f4 forcing h5 then blacks K defense is wrecked with lots aiming at it

how???
joe how did you get Nd5 as the next move??? In my 1st post i suggested Ba6 or Na5. when Nd5 was suggested i posted a line of analysis that showed it was bad. so i repeat how did Nd5 win the vote. At best there was a tie to be decided
I can always go back, but in your subject line you said 15...Nd5 That's why I thought it was your vote. Now, that I see otherwise, I'll delete it and go back.
15...Ba6
I change my vote to 15...Ba6
In addition, we're going back to the original position, as it's still black to move. So, given this change, we have 1 vote for 15...Ba6. Normally, I wouldn't even go that far as to calculated the votes yet, but that's sort of what you have to do get back on track.

i vote
for Ba6. lets take that diagonal prisoner
Ba6
Ba6 is good for me too. Joe I think it is safe to move the board
Now, a unanimous vote has been reached for 15...Ba6

for discussion
white would like to play the B onto the h2-b8 diagonal. However if Bg3 is played immediately then Nh5 traps it. So 1st i propose h3 to give the B a bolt hole on h2. The other move option is Rc1 but the few games in the dbase show these all lead to a draw. Ideas anyone?

Discussion 2
What about the obvious Qd3? Forces black to play g6 and makes pawn on h6 vulnerable.
If the white queen moves to d3 because the bishop will take it. Would moving the c3-knight to the kingside be a good option?
Missed it on Qd3
Thanks cplusplus11 missed that all together.

if the c3 N comes K-side
it has to do so through Ne2 or Ne4. Both these are covered by black and so he could choose to exchange. On c3 the N is guarding d5 for the d-pawn should it wish to push forward. So i dont think moving the c3 N is a good idea.
h3 is good for me
I am good with h3
I vote
I vote for 16.h3
After reading bigpeta's vote more carefully and seeing what everyonelse voted on, white's next move is 16.h3
How about Qd6 or Na5?
Black can bring its Q into play against the white K's position Qd6. Or Na5 opens up the R.
Nh5 or Nd5?
Qd6 allows white to continue his plan to reposition his bishop to the h2-b8 diagonal with tempo. Nh5 prevents the bishop from going to g3. Maybe Nd5 is playable now that Qd3 has been prevented.

analysis of suggestions
Nh5 or Nd5 both lead to exchanges which leave the game even so either is safe to play. Na5 just to give the R an open file i dont think is the best place for it. Qd6 blocks everything in and allows Bg3 to attack it. Instead a possibility is Qc7 doing the same job of taking the diagonal but leaves d6 free for the B. However it does further block the R. So i am quite happy to go with Nd5 or Nh5
Nh5 my preference
I prefer Nh5 black will keep it's N in play which is guarding it's K.
I vote for Nh5
it forces the white DSB off the board.
So, one thing that bigpeta liked a lot was 16...Nh5, and this what everyonelse voted on.

Whites B on h4 looks like a sitting duck
It looks like the B needs to be protected or moved now. Otherwise next turn Black plays Bxh4, followed by Nxh4 and then Qxh4 and white is down an N. I suggest Bxe7 or Bg3. What you guys think?
