HB2 Bill in NC - Let's debate
As a lifetime resident in the great state of North Carolina, I have been following with interest the news on the HB2 Bill. It seems that Paypal has decided not bring its operating center to NC because of this. Bruce Springsteen canceled his concert in Greensboro in protest of the HB2 Bill and although Jimmy Buffet has decided to keep his concert dates, it is in spite of that "stupid law".

Stupid law? Really Jimmy?

As a modest woman (and a mother of two daughters), it would really freak me out to come out of the shower in the women's locker room at the gym and find a man undressing in front of the lockers. Truthfully, it freaks me out to see woman undress out in the open like that, especially when there are dressing cubicles for that purpose, but to each his own. But a man with his man parts hanging out in a place where only women with women parts are supposed to be...no way. It doesn't matter if said man identifies as a woman, if the person has man parts, then the person doesn't belong in the women's locker room or restrooms. It's a privacy thing.

This is a link about myths vs. facts of the HB2 Bill.

I am totally on your side mistee.

Common decency has disappeared from our country. Think I would be as any other guy would be fighting mad if one of the "it" things was in the same bathroom as my wife, daughter or granddaughters.

I may have to move to NC just to vote for decency!!!!

I think I may have to move to Montana. This whole HB2 thing is out of control.

So help me to understand, Target has said that they will let individuals use the bathroom they identify with so that is nationwide not just NC right? If yes what is happening in other states?

That's a good question
I don't know the answer, but I would suspect that it is nationwide. I gave up Walmart years ago because the one near me is always so crazy crowded, so Target was my go to place. I'm not sure I'll be going to Target anymore. It's a good thing I hate to shop.

I don't get it. I have sympathy for transgenders, I really do. But can't people see the dangers of allowing anyone who says they "identify" with a particular sex to use the restroom/lockeroom/shower of their choosing...can't they see how dangerous this can be?

It may be a while but I have a feeling you will see the men's room and ladies room signs come down and all you will see is the word bathroom. I believe it will come to that.

A previous NC law
would have found that Charlotte had exceeded it's authority. Why didn't the NC legislature simply apply that law and overrule Charlotte? Too easy I suppose, or perhaps that would not have made enough conservative bible belt noise for the conservative legislators. Was there perhaps a hidden agenda or an awaited opportunity to strike like there clearly are with the "snake like" hidden agendas of the voter ID regulations? Jon
