![]() This thread is a bit similar to my "wall of death" games in another club post, but with a twist.I have employed this odd looking pawn strategy in my lightning and bullet blitz games on other blitz sites not GK,since GK does not have these time settings.I wish they had! Call it an extreme psychological weapon that many players fail to recognize or know how to handle. Now,to prove a point(just a bit)my first game of "doom and gloom" below(and there will be plenty more in time and against much stronger opponents) is against an average player(this time around) who is rated at 1589...close to 1600 in other words. Not a bad rating at all.And I went against my usual time settings. This first game below is a 10 minute, zero increment game.I did that to prove a point.10 minutes is a long time to figure out what to do with this weird pawn configuration I employ. But the player below not only failed terribly, but ended up blundering major pieces all over the place, including his Queen, before he resigned in ONLY 17 moves!I kind of actually feel BAD for this guy!But weird pawn chains, pawn thrusts and more(as in this quick game)prove much! Its more than simply the "surface"of what you deem as reality in your thoughts, which is..."well WB,he is 1589 and you are 2300+" Stop making up those excuses in your mind!At almost 1600,this guy should have destroyed me in a 10 minute game with those weak moves, regardless of WB's rating! But the lesson here as well as many more games is.....1.The element of surprise 2.Psychological pressure in an undefined pawn pattern either never or rarely encountered 3.Lack of pawn exchange knowledge 4.Increased probability of blunders through openings and ex-rays formed from these pawn chain configurations of mine.Observe and enjoy.PGN converters will be supplied.I cannot supply the oxygen masks for those who faint, however!Ha ha! [Event "GameKnot Blitz"] [Site "http://gameknot] [Date "2014.07.20"] [Round "-"]10 minutes, zero increment [White "tutramses"]1589 [Black "wrecking_ball"]2300+ [Result "0-1"]Player resigned in 17 moves. 1. More to come. This was not even a good example.Wait till I do this against the 1900-2200 crowd! And yes,you will see my wins come pouring in with this silly doom and gloom wall! How do I know this?I have been employing it since 1970 with great success.Thats how! Yes,silly, dumb, stupid, not master like moves.Right? But are they really dumb and not proper to play this way(as above) if they continue to destroy? If you said yes to this,YOU(that's right YOU)have much to learn!!! |

![]() This time against a player of close to 1700 in rating: [Event "GameKnot Blitz"] [Site "http://gameknot] [Date "2014.07.20"] [Round "-"]5 min, zero increment [White "wrecking_ball"]2300+ [Black "jasper_05"]1673 [Result "1-0"]Opponent resigned before the wall totally caved in upon him. 1. a3 c6 2. c3 g6 3. e3 c5 4. g3 Bg7 5. d4 cxd4 6. exd4 Nc6 7. d5 Nb8 8. d6 exd6 9. Rxc6 1-0 Position after move #4: Strange position already on move #8: Yes,take that d6 pawn of mine and open your King file...wide open.(and that is exactly what this player did). Not good, indeed.Shouldn't a 1700 player know something about opening his King file already by move #8?Answer:Yes.But applying that knowledge in a game, even though you read it a thousand times are two different things!Sure it may appear doubled edged with the open file heading down to me,but then,I have the initiative! Now,in some future games I will reverse the pawn pattern and move on the 3rd rank white squares instead of the black when playing the white side. Will it make a difference, even with a 2000 rated player? We will see in time.... Need that oxygen mask yet? |

![]() And so this game is one of the pinnacles of that wrath against a close to 1700 rated player again.I tried to get someone stronger, but to no avail yet in the blitz room.Soon,I hope, though! Hey,1670 is certainly no beginner, right?Right. [Event "GameKnot Blitz"] [Site "http://gameknot] [Date "2014.07.20"] [Round "-"]5 min, zero increment [White "wrecking_ball"]you know. Deep central control after move #18: So what is one of the many lessons here?Expect the unexpected! And be prepared for these irregular's!Now where is my nightcap and dark glasses and bunny slippers with big ears?Hey,almost forgot my brandy! |

![]() And such is the case below as you will see in the diagram. So I am controlling the black squares and my opponent decides to control the white squares, trying to mimic the 2300+player.Trouble is,his control of the center(unlike my control) is zero.My move #5 already clenches the control(5.d4) while he is still trying to imitate me with 5....a6.Big mistake! I wonder how many of my opponents dump their soda all over their keyboards when they get all riled up at losing to these games of mine that they really should be winning?A few,i'm sure! And that is what I want!!!Hope it was Coca-Cola.That actually "corrodes"paint and metal parts/circuits faster, like on a keyboard.Don't like someone?Try dumping that Coke on a cars paint job at 1 am and driving by at 8 am.Not alot of paint left,i'm afraid,or it will be spotty and need repainting! No,no,please do not do that! Its illegal and not nice! But,just saying,FYI. |
