Here we are:
1.e4, g5 2.d4, h6 3.Bc4, a6 4.Qh5, d5 5.exd5, Nf6 6.Qd1,Nxd5 7.Ne2, Nc6 8.a3, Bg7 9.c3, e5 10.dxe5, Be6 11.Nd2, Nxe5 12.O-O, Ne3 13.fxe3, Nxc4 14. Nf3 Qxd1 A conditional move has been offered: if 15. Rxd1 then....0-0 I don't see any other possibility so we have: I first suggested 16. b3 but I don't like it. I think we should play 16. Nfd4 and this would be the position:

Also 16. e4
might be a move we could make. That would give us a possible place for our bishop.
oops, posted at the same time
I'll vote 15.Rxd1
saintinsanity 29-Jun-14, 19:11
Oh, right
I also definitely vote 15. Rxd1. This is what they call a forced move.
Same, actually. I was thinking of a different, but see that he took our Q. Should we not play it, he's won a Q without compensation. And, I don't believe that 15.e4, will help, either. So, my vote is 15.Rxd1, as well.

I'd say its simply obvious and fair that we save time and no need for additional votes on 15.Rxd1.I'm sure no one would disagree with 15.Rxd1,otherwise you guys would definitely lose the game with any other move...trust me!It is,however,NOT a forced move! Its only forced if whites King was in check and he must take the Queen to make it the next only legal move.Technically, you do not have to take my Queen...it is not forced! But that would,of course,be suicide.I could imagine a 300 rated player trying a different move different than 15.Rxd1.But that is not the case with us. So,the game should now be officially: 15. Rxd1,0-0 and I will await your 16th move/votes
So, here's is the current position. Right now, no votes, and there will not be time for me to examine this position, until tomorrow.

right
I meant forced in the figurative sense.

Actually,I will correct myself!Pawntificator is technically correct.I am wrong. Its late and I was thinking of only a forced move based upon checks and/or mates. But a forced move can also be as in the first sentence below.... "A move that is the only one which does not result in a serious disadvantage for the moving player. Forced can also be used to describe a sequence of moves for which the player has no viable alternative, for example "the forced win of a piece" or "a forced checkmate". In these cases the player cannot avoid the loss of a piece or checkmate, respectively." Just to clarify!Time to hit myself with my own WB!!!

I keep going back to look at b3
Yes, it is figuratively forced. I agree because I don't normally say this, but I'm in the same time zone as WB. And, it was kind of late, a little after 11:30 p.m., came back from fishing and couldn't sleep that late. I'm looking at the positions, and this time, I agree with pawntificator and think that 13.b3 is the best move in this positon. After that N pulls back, we can bring our remaining piece into play.
Sorry, I meant 16.b3

What do you guys think of any future club games to be created as a regular unrated GK game with a 3,4 or 5 day time limit and listed as a game between Todd and I(example)? Then, you guys can discuss the game for the next few days and Todd(or whoever) can then plug in the move after the votes are taken. This way, there will always be a nice game board and a designated time limit and the board can be easily reposted in the club forum and analyzed.
I think this is a great idea.
16.b3 is my vote. Regular unrated GK game board much more easily handled than present setup.

I've decided then.Any future club games between me and the club will have the unrated game format.I have asked Todd to be the player who counts the votes and inputs the move on the clubs side. But,its only fair that I ask everyone in the club and get additional volunteers if they would like to take on that future job in the next game, instead of Todd. You will have to be available to not only vote and count up the votes but be able to input the move before the 4 or 5 day time limit so the game does not time-out on your side. Volunteers?

I see 3 votes for 16.b3 Anyone else?
haven't had a chance to look yet. and I think jkarp and pawntificator MAY only be putting out candidates. would like to have until tomorrow to weigh options. cplusplus may also want to contribute.

I didn't vote! Wait!

saintinsanity 30-Jun-14, 18:32
maybe we should move a knight to d4
Before we play b3
saintinsanity 30-Jun-14, 18:53
yes
16. b3 Na5 And our b3 pawn is in trouble. I think we should play 16 Nfd4 first
I think we could get into trouble with moving knight to d4, but several moves later. Can't explain now, because must sign off, it's late here, but will explain first thing in morning.

i would love to Hear it
But I see immediate trouble after b3
saintinsanity 30-Jun-14, 20:59
Also, I think having an unrated game board is a fine idea. That is how we are conducting another forum game.
Why would b3 get us into trouble? I don't see it, in this position.
using pawntificator's sequence 16.b3 na5, our b-pawn is immediately attacked and our rook probably ends up in an awkward position. until we restabilize those pawns, all intiative may go over to white, ...not that he doesn't already have a fair portion. as is, while the hole on b3 is not great, at least the a and c pawns are supported by a pawn leaving other pieces to, hopefully, be put to better use (better than guarding pawns that is). also, his N is not threatening for the moment so leaving it alone and in need of at least one move to become a threat may be a good idea. on the other hand, we do not have great defense of our b pawn NOW! can't move the bishop and can't defend it with a rook. oof! I may be wrong about all of the above. just an initial reaction. those black bishops make our choice tricky. and the black knight could be on b3 in two moves and us with no light bishop or queen to stop it. etc, etc... don't have any candidates yet. b3 is not crossed off my list yet. I agree putting a knight on d4 should be looked at, perhaps the knight on e2 (then moving a rook to e1 could perhaps make some sense, ...perhaps). I wonder if b4 could be any good. will be able to take a closer look later in the day.
With d4, black might move a rook to d-file and that would be that as far as protecting b3 is concerned.
