I vote c4 too.

Before I make the next move
3 have 3 votes for c4 and this is a majority. As more players join us we will have to give them time to vote. The reason would be they will be left out and feel they are not a part of this game.
Us 3 play fast and might end up playing this our self.
How long do we want to wait to allow some other players?
I'm off today and this weekend but normally working 10 hour days.
Please vote or give us some feedback as I have 20 games and this game is only one I need to make a move in.

I suggest waiting for a few hours

we might want to talk about our plan of attack. Alex will not be reading any of our comments.

Best Regards,

Ron

3 votes for Nc3

Ok, I missed the first one. My first vote would've been 1.e4, but this was my second instinct. The reason that I wouldn't have voted for 1.Nf6 was because I'm not a super strong (2000+) rated player, and I go along with what tactical-abyss noted. Since 1.d4 was played, it's hard to know. But, black played 1...Nf6. If black had played 1...d5, then my vote would be 2.Nf3 Since he responded with Nf6, however, my vote is also 2.c4, for one reason only. The idea is that it makes it safe for us, to later play Nc3 because you don't want that Knight to go to c3, until the c pawn has advanced in 1.d4 openings.

Ok Joe we are, thanks for your analysis and since we are where we are with c4. we are set for Nc3 which is because of moving to c4. As you have explained c3 would protect the d4 pawn but would also not allow the Nc3 placement. Thanks for explain this, that is a simple development issue solved by playing c4.
I count 4 votes for Nc3 and plan to move soon.
How many other team players do we have that want to put in their vote?

I want to make a comment to get us to think what is black going to play if we play Nc3. At first if I was black I would consider putting a pin on the N. What else might black play?

I can't think of any viable moves other than possibly b6, but I think this is unlikely.

Move 4 made Our move 5
Alex has moved Bb4 pins our N. white to move

knightrider62

We have several choices here Bg5, e3, Qc2 but I like Bd2 my second choice is Bg5.
redfoxrising
18-Apr-16, 06:56

As I mentioned our current position has our N pinned. Sue has suggested some moves Bg5 pins his N to Q. e3 adds protection to d4 and f4. Qc2 protects our Pinned N, this also develops our Q a bit early but she also has the white diagonal protected. Bd2 breaks the pin.

If I understand right we have 1 vote for Bd2 and her 2nd is Bg5.

I will also cast my vote the same way 2 votes for Bd2 with my 2nd Qb3 to attack his DSB and break the pin. (note we have different 2nd choices). This is a team effort in our club game, Anyone else with a vote? Providing us with your reason for your vote is helpful for us to learn in this consultation game.

There are several moves that can be considered here Qb3 as suggested earlier is one, driving the bishop away completely. There is also e3 and e4 allowing the bishop to be developed on the next move freeing us to be able to castle. I am a bit wary of bringing the Queen out so early but either e3 or e4 is fine with me.

My vote is g3 with the idea of developing finechetto bishop.
knightrider62
20-Apr-16, 22:48

I didn't think of that but g3 certainly has possibilities, I like it.
falcon67
21-Apr-16, 06:27
