Intro
Thanks to knighrider62 for the invitation to join this club, and thank you for accepting my application to join. As I told knightrider62, I was lying in bed tonight ruminating over the fact that my chess gameplay has really improved very little since I joined Gameknot in October 2006. At that time I only knew how the pieces moved. I lost my first 35 games with the exception of timeouts. My friend who introduced me to Gameknot only played one game at a time. However, I soon became a premium subscriber, and I thrived on playing multiple games. While I play members of all ratings, I always enjoy playing members with higher ratings in hope that I might learn something from them. One of my biggest weaknesses is timing out. However, I have vowed to break that bad habit.

I very much look forward to improving the way I play the game. Thanks again for having me.

I joined this great club in anticipation of improving my game. There is a wealth of knowledge here and it will take quite a while to go through it all. I discovered quite recently that the only way to improve at chess is by studying it., this club will help with that. one lesson I have learned the hard way is not to move until you have ascertained all threats both of the current position and any threats that might arise after a considered move the analysis board can help with this. My thanks to Falcon67 for accepting me into the club

Thank you very much for welcoming me into your club. I particularly noticed the posting in your forum on the subject of DEFENCE in chess, and found it very interesting. I seem to be an instinctively defensive player. But I'm not terribly good at it, although I have had some successes. That posting in your forum on the subject of defence gives me a lot of ideas about material that can be studied to further my knowledge and increase my skills.

I changed my playing name from lesplay to tough_customer to give myself a mental boost to endeavour to become better defensively!

Hi. I'm Joe. As many know, I started a club called, Chess Coaches and Mentors. And, it was designed for the same purpose. Now, I closed it down a little over a year ago for many reason. But, one of the main ones was because I felt that there was not enough beginners to make it worth the while. This club does the same thing, and yet, has the exact same thing. So, I'm surprised but impressed that it's still continuing. I think that the founder has done well for himself. The reason I joined is because, on top of adding to that thread, I read Sue's thread on a Consultation, as I did with KOH. I also read Alex's post. So, I'm hoping that we, sooner or later, get enough members for a consultation game to ensue. I find them helpful for learning, as well.
