I think we all can make a 200 point increase, but to do so will require wins outside of this club.
Who is going to get there first is the question. I don't need bit-coins for the motivation. I suggest we all play our best and try to increase our ratings. Looking at all 11 of us I can SEE this happening. Play Hard in all your games and PLAY TO WIN and HAVE FUN with your chess games.

For me, it won't be that easy because I've cut my games down to 1 which will stay that way until after Halloween. From there, I'll slowly increase it to 3. But, it won't go up until, at the earliest, I've got 2 days off. Then after, I'll very likely wind up decreasing it again until after Christmas because for me, the normal amount is just too much for me to handle at once as things are bound to get busy again. Too much, whether from overconfidence or nervous is going to cause me problems, just like what happened in a recent team game.

As of now, I'm not available for one. But, when things start to settle down, so either after Christmas or when my gym is open 24 hours, I'd become available. That, however, will be a while.

Another idea, however, came to mind. So, if not a mini tourney, I was thinking of a possible consultation game, between this club and my club. What happened is that after the consultation game finished, penguin_ said that maybe we should do it again sometime. Meanwhile, I spoke to brigadecommander about that possibility. For her, it's busy, and she said that it'll be discussed when her vacation flag ends. But, playing with her was an option. But, I'm thinking of other possibilities, as well. Like, what if penguin_ joined this club or mine for the battle. If so, when I become a little more available, that possibility exists that there can be the game between two clubs. Yes, I've consultation games take place between two different clubs. The only thing, which is a general rule is if you vote in one club, you can't vote in another since it is a battle. But, I think it would be ideal for learning purposes, and thus, help both of us achieve our goals since the idea behind these clubs are the same.

Right now, I do not. But, that should change on November 3rd, but not if it's a tourney. I can do a consultation game, but a tourney is very different and won't have time until Nov 9th at the earliest. But, I even prefer to wait until after Christmas, when things really quiet down.

Very favorable participation. We could also play a consult game against our very own member who is a top GK player if he has time to play us, I'm speaking of Alex Ratchkov. Who will offer to play for us within our team? The game should be played unrated and we should set up some guidelines to make it played quickly, a move at least every 2 days or sooner as long as Alex is in agreement. Falcon67 can you be our club player against Alex if he accepts?

I agree with Ron's assessment. But, I think it'd be cool if two clubs could compete with each other. I know that it isn't possible all the time, so this may be a better bet. And, if it's with this club, I will inform penguin_

I am not so much in agreement as I am about club play as I am about play amongst ourselves. We cant be a team if we dont know how each team member plays.

A lot of chess teams here on gameknot have vote chess games against other teams.It would be a great for learning .You explain your reasoning for the move.The more players that get involved the better.

Alex is a club member and I just sent hi another message to see if he is interested in playing us.

If Alex hasn't responded, I'll have to figure out something. The bad news is that there weren't choices, as I got booked with more games because when you start a tourney, and once the game starts, they can't be cancelled, unless you leave. I decided not to leave the tourney, though, as there is too much to learn. And, with it, I expect to lose there. But, the good news is that I can, more then likely, go back to normal after Thanksgiving. That is, assuming the schedule will stay where it is and it doesn't get crazy again. This would give me time to challenge someone to a consultation game, and possibly, have it be a battle between this club and mine. And, what's more, is that I'll inform penguin when we arrive at that juncture.
