 Greek MithologyPersefone was abducted by Hades, from his home, and taken to the undeworld with him. Her mother went to Zeus to complain, and asked for her daughter back. Because of the sadness of the mother, all the soil became cold, no plants could grow, all was white with snow. Zeus asked Hades to return Persefone and, after lots of discussions, it was agreed that Persefone would come home every 6 months. Those times when she returned home the soil was good again, with many flowers. That's the greek mithology explanation for the seasons. Share your favorite story with us! |
