I see your soul in your beautiful prayer, Ron.

Please pray for strength.
Please pray with me that God will give me strength on my new job. Last Friday afternoon I secured employment at Painturo's Italian restaurant. While I will occasionally help in the kitchen, my primary responsibilities are washing dishes first and cleaning tables second. Actually, both of my first two days this week some of the ladies have had to help me out by cleaning the tables for me as I found myself hopelessly lost in a mound of dishes. Please also join me in prayer asking God to deliver me from Satan's grip. The whole time I am washing dishes and busing tables, I have to listen to his jabs, "So this is why you graduated with honors from Belmont University with a bachelor's degree in computer information systems . . . to wash dirty dishes and clean dirty tables." He is almost unbearable with his annoyances.

Oh wow! Jim. That is awful. Bless your heart. That guy doesn't deserve you. I certainly will pray about it.
It's not my wonderful employer, Shirley. It is Satan and everything he can muster against me. I tell him that God's Word preaches working hard and that Jesus Himself asks us to work as if though we are working for Jesus. Moreover, my job affords me the opportunity to be a blessing to both our customers and to my coworkers. Even more so, I now have the opportunity to invite my co-workers to church. All but the manager and the owner are young whippersnappers with the median age just 25.

Very sorry to hear, Jim. There's no doubt that Satan is active in the world on many fronts. "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:" (1 Peter 5:8) I will pray for your work situation to improve and for you to remain strong in the Lord: "Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:" (Ephesians 6:11-17) "And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong." (2 Corinthians 12:9-10)

<Even more so, I now have the opportunity to invite my co-workers to church.> I'm guessing this is why you're under attack.
Good point, Andy.
I did not catch that. The devil is giving me his all to hinder me from inviting others to church. Good insight!

Hi Everyone!
I hope and pray that you all have a blessed day. I also pray for the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ to shield all those under the fiery attacks on all sides from our archenemy and his minions. May you stand firm on your ground having the shield of faith deflect the darts of our enemy, letting your other arm counter attack by using the sword (Word) of our God. Let us stand side by side and uphold one another in prayer as we do spiritual warfare together. Blessings, Ian

I want everyone to know that Eric's 10 year old daughter is recovering her health, and also her appetite. I keep in touch with Eric as he is on my team. Please keep his daughter Vienna in your prayers until she is totally recovered. I pray for Eric's family also. Thank you. I posted this prayer request on April 12th, page 1 of this thread.

Doing Better
Last Tuesday night, I suffered a nervous breakdown. Much to my wife's dismay, I planned to commit myself the next morning. However, at the sage advice of a friend, I will be attending an outpatient program instead to start Monday. It will consist of a total of 65 hours of therapy.

Great news, Jim! Thank you for the update. I think outpatient therapy is nearly always preferable to inpatient therapy and agree your friend's advice was wise based upon that. Will continue to pray for you as I'm sure many others, both on and off Gameknot, are doing. I have a book I'd like to send you once I've read it. It's called "Pain, Perplexity and Promotion, A Prophetic Interpretation of the Book of Job" by Bob Sorge. Haven't started it yet (it's not long,) but the back cover says the author wrote it "from the valley of a sustained personal trial, along with the contagious hope God has given him for a mighty deliverance." Stay strong in Him and God bless you!

I'm really sorry to learn that you have had a setback, Jim. I am keeping you in my prayers every day, and have been doing so for some time. I wish you all the very best. I am sure you know that.
Thank you, Andy and Shirley
Thanks to everybody who has been praying for me. Andy, I am very much looking forward to reading the book that you mentioned. Shirley and Andy, thank you for your prayers and well-wishing. Such words of encouragement go a long way toward one's recovery. May God continue to bless you richly. In Christ's perfect, matchless love, Jim

Prayer needed
First I want to say that I hope you are doing better Jim and that you are able to heal. I am in need of prayer. Friday my left hand pinky and ring fingers were a little numb. And my hand is weak. Well today is Monday and there still has been no improvement. So I am hoping it isn't serious. I think it is a pinched nerve but I am not sure.
I certainly will pray for you, Robert. From experience, I know that a pinched nerve can take up to six months to recover. I had a pinched nerve in my hand many years ago. I knew how I had pinched it, but the doctor said he thought it was the cane I was using at the time. I had actually been carrying two 2 liter bottles of pop in a flimsy plastic bag strung on two or three fingers of my hand. However, it is a good idea to consult a doctor in case it is carpal tunnel, or something like that. I wish you all the best, and am keeping everyone in my prayers that I promised I would.
I am praying for what is probably a pinched nerve in your hand. While Shirley and I are praying for healing, I recommend you seek immediate help from your primary physician as God also works through doctors. I have a pinched nerve in my tail bone, and at first, it gave me fits. No chiropractor could help me with it. Physical therapy, however, reversed the pain and numbness. Please keep us apprised as to your progress with it.

Hi Everyone!
I am visiting you on this thread today and would like to share a brief message as a reminder that you are in possession with. The Spirit of God (Life Giving Force/Life Force/Doctor/Comforter/Councilor) is dwelling in all whom God our Father gave faith in Christ. He is God's precious gift to us the moment we believed, received, and embraced the Gospel message of God through His only begotten Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. All forms of sickness is manifested in our physical body especially when we have advanced in age. Ponder along that direction my brethren in the Lord. A woman touched the Lord's garment and see what happened next (Mark 5:27-30). A beautiful picture of faith at work; believing that her faith in Christ as she touches His garment will bring healing to her body. But the faith God gave us in Christ brought us complete healing; 1) First in our spirit by making us alive in Christ. He removed the block (sin) that separates us from God and placed it at the cross in Golgotha where Jesus received the punishment for it (Isaiah 53:5). The new being(2 Corinth. 5:17) God gave us in Christ is where all His blessings is channeled. 2) Let your spirit as you live your life in union with God's Spirit radiate in your body the healing that took place already in your spirit. In doing this, let the indwelling Spirit of God conquer your sickness in your physical body. Through the prayer of faith allow the Spirit to touch and manifest healing in the area where you are suffering (physically, psychologically, and emotionally). As you walk along that direction and learning how the prayer of faith works, you will be ushered into a fresh experience and encounter of God's Spirit in you. I will go now and labor in prayer for all of you. May you enjoy all the blessings of God which we have in Christ! Ian

A Message to the Prayer Warriors
I am steadily bleeding; I need a trip to the emergency room. However, the nearest ER is 50 miles away, and we must traverse several miles of short, curvy roads. Please pray that I won't lose too much blood. Also, I take the anti-coagulant, warfarin. Pray that the solution does not cause even further problems for me.
I am so sorry to hear that, Jim. I have only just come online as I have a health worker at my home right now. I certainly will pray for you.
Please post as soon as you can and let us know how you are doing. You know I wish you all the best. Shirley.

Still Bleeding but Better
I ended up in a local doctor's office. He verified that my warfarin level was okay. Nonetheless, he insisted I drive 50 miles to t he nearest emergency room. Though I started in that direction, I later forwent the ER,and headed back to my cousin's house. I am still bleeding slightly, but I am okay. Thank you for the prayers lifted up in my name.
I am so glad you are OK, Jim. I have been praying for you regularly. In fact, I have been praying for you every day for weeks.

Prayer Works
While I am overdue for a depressed state, I can no longer say with certainty that God still wills depression for me. He may very well be content keeping me out of depression this time. After all, I have been out of depression for the past 16 weeks, which is two weeks short of a 32-year record for me.
I am praying for you every day that you will not fall into another depression, Jim and have been since you said that you thought you were going into another. Please give your dear wife my very best wishes. I am also praying every day for Vienna, the ten year old who was suffering from glandular fever. Eric, her father, told me two or three weeks ago that she was doing better and recovering her appetite.
