Mother Nature at it's Worse
Yes, I started the thread in the original club. gameknot.com This is an important as it would appear long and forgotten. But, a tropical system is threatening a lot of areas. Consequently, my area is under a Tropical Storm Watch with Hermine. But, unlike before, I won't fret over it, even if it means losing power. For it is what it is, and if push comes to shove, I can always go to the local library and use my computer without an absolute time limit. With that being said, what there is to learn is how to play good chess despite mother nature, at it's worse.

It's possible the library could lose power too. You need batteries and satellites

Only problem is that I can't postpone because I postponed for a week in late August, and they say that you can't postpone for the same amount of time that your postponement ended. So, mine had ended on Thursday but was postponed for a week, so I can't for 5 more days. But, what they do is if it gets really bad and the game would timeout, anyway, they issue an emergency postponement which is only good if you're a premium. It lasts for 5 days as the game would've timed out, as I learned with Super Storm Sandy. The good news is that it's looking better for my area, but it could loop around. So, if the library loses power, and it might go into that. Hopefully, it won't, and I'm remaining optimisitic, unless it takes the worst scenario that it'll remain like this, and power won't be knocked out.

Thanks Ron. Yes, I'm hoping for the best case which they're saying so far that after stalling out in the Northeast Atlantic, it takes the easterly, as opposed to, westerly track.

The good news is that the worst is not going to occur. It went further east then predicted. There still might be some gusty winds, but it's not going to be direct impacts, as was predicted yesterday. Right now, the sun's out, it's nice and a little breezy. But, it has all worked out.

Update
Not only have I dodged the bullet, but I'm completely out of the woods. That's because the storm has moved off shore. What we thought would happen here actually occurred in Virginia. I'll be posting if other storms hit as that also reduces the anxiety since there are other things besides just tropical systems with mother nature.
