It is a long way off. But, if I closed it right now, I wouldn't get the money's worth. Essentially, I opened up this club thinking about why chess helps someone in life, based on, how it's helped. That's, as opposed to, the real reason it helps someone succeed in life. My idea, of course, was the education aspect of it, but there's no way that I can help someone get real good at the game since I'm not. And, when you way it in with the negative accomplishment, to it, the club has served it's purpose. So, I feel that any more renewal would just be a waste of money. But, I'm waiting until the renewal period is up.

There is a little more Ron because when it closes, I will be merging it with Chicoboy's Legacy Club. So, essentially, it'll close, but this club won't be gone gone. Instead, 2 completely different clubs will become 1. As I started a couple of threads in Chicoboy's Legacy Club that can help someone outside of chess which is why I even went into teaching chess, in the first place.

It's not going to merge, and I was just going to close it. And, it might stay opened, but if it does, things will be different including the name of this club as it would be for teams, specifically, for people who are or have been Team Captains or Co-captains. This would be the reason why, as explained in the Team Captains of Gameknot. gameknot.com I'll close the thread for now but give an update on whether or not someone can take over that club as I believe that he'll go up to GK in the very near future, before this club is up for renewal.

Someonelse, bearz, opened a new club for the same reason. So, I will still be closing this club down when the time's up. In the meantime, I'll still accept applicants until I get a reminder about the fee which will probably be in late February. And, I will also put a reminder up a week prior to this happening.

Final Update
So, we're closing in a week from tomorrow. In addition, I won't be opening up another club unless bearz's club and the Rational gameknot team play club both close. And, if that were to happen, I'll still have the same requirements as bearz or JJ about who joins, so being a team manager or playing in, at least, 30 team games. That is, unless you are or were a member of this club in which case, I'd still accept you no matter what. With that there are only 2 former players that were members of this club, and I know who they are. Plus,I have, copied, pasted, and printed out, all of the current members of this club. With that, the current moderator would also be able to moderate that club since we're not closing because of what someone said or did. Having said that, I do have requriements about who joins my team when it comes to timeouts. But, it does not apply to anyone in this club that is not a member of a team. In other words, any member of this club that isn't on one but looking to join a team is welcome to join my team, Balance.
