Chess Problems Lovers vs Knights of Honor Chess Club
I received a proposal from Knights of Honor Chess Club founder, tennesseehiker to play a game between our clubs. I accepted it,that will be a consultation game, with the agreement that members of each club will not read the discussion about the game in the opposite club. Who will participate in this competition?
Ready
Who is White?
I'm still waiting to know it from tennesseehiker I will let you know as soon as he will reply
I just saw that several members of our club are also members of Knights of Honor Chess Club I don't know if we can do this game...
i will not play
as i am a member of KOH.
I and tennesseehiker agreed that members that are in both clubs can choose which club they wish to participate. Here is the game: game We have to decide the first move My preference is for e4

:-D
Am I correct in inferring we have the White pieces? Has the first move yet been decided? Cheers, Ion
We are still voting for the first move, and, yes,we play white
I'll vote for...
1.Nf3, just to be different. But I really have no problem with any reasonable debut...
I'm in ...
and I vote for the flexible 1.Nf3 as well.
1.Nf3
Trying to escape from boring prepared lines

1.Nf3
Great flexibility!

1.Nf3 is a great, solid move. A favourite of Kramnik.
Then our move is Nf3
Their move is d5 1.Nf3 d5 Make your votes,please
2.g3
White's choice is between a) 2.d4 reaching the Queen's pawn game (probably Queen's Gambit or Slav) b) 2.g3 King's Indian attack, still flexible 3) 2.c4 probably reaching Slav or Queen's Gambit if Black doesn't want to play 2...d4 with a reversed Benoni 4) 2.b3 Nimzowitsch favourite 5) 2.b4 a sort of Sokolsky was played by Alekhine but never become popular choice is a matter of taste

2.d4, I like my share of the center.

Of course, I've played 2.g3. It's also a good move.
I will join if I still can.
Of course you can,and are welcome!
2.g3
Still seeking some flexibility and a strategic rather than a sharp tactical opening.
Thanks elenapetrova
I prefer 2.g3 as well.
