Another study
The White here is definitely better, but what is the best way to take advantage?
|
|
I'd guess on.....
I'd guess on Rxd7 but I am not sure. I am not even sure whether it is better to check with the rook or the queen after black recaptures with the king.

Rxd7 is correct, but after Kxd7 it is better another move instead of check
|
|
2. Be3
So in that case, I would guess it is a move with the bishop on f4 to attack the black queen and discover an attack on f7 with the Rf1. There are two candidates, Be3 or Bc7 and I prefer Be3 as after 2. Bc7 Kxc7 3. Rxf7+ Kg8 the black king does have some security whereas 2. Be3 Qxe3 3. Rxf7+ is surely winning, maybe mating, let me see....

Yes it is mating
2. Be3 Qxe3 3. Rxf7+ is mating. I am turning it into a mate in 7 puzzle. This doesn't look like a study. It looks like a game. Where is it from please?

Yes,Charles, your solution is correct Also archduke_piccolo found the right solution and sent me a message. I will say the source after few days, when all they want to attempt will have done it.I will send a message to Charles and Ion with the source

Interesting
Interesting. I probably would have considered Rxd7 in a game and would consider checks and ultimately dismissed Rxd7 as an unsound sacrifice. Many thanks for sharing this.

It's a shame that the answer is here so that others can't try.
