Muslim ban
I have a question. Why does Trump feel that a ban from certain countries is the way to keep bad guys out? Wouldn't it be far more logical to just tighten up the vetting process that he says is so porous? I mean, it's idiotic!

It's like saying flies are getting into my house because one window is open. And instead of putting a screen on the window, of closing that window, Trump wants to nail all the windows and doors shut.

It's illogical and inefficient. He's had 2 months.... has he tightened up the vetting? If not, why not??? If do, why the blanket ban on 6 countries. It literally makes no sense.

My understanding is countries on the travel ban were placed there because they didn't have internal procedures in place that provided adequate documentation so the U.S. would know who was entering America.

And the travel ban was temporary until the proper documentation could be provided.

I think a better analogy is flies are entering through holes in my screen. Let me close the window 'til I can get a new screen or repair the existing one.

But why not just fix the screen?

Because Muslim terrorists want to kill Americans.

That's what he's doing. But he can't fix another country's failure to provide adequate documentation.

So
Change the bad vetting policy!!! Why is that so hard? Find what's wrong with the current policy and change it!

But this administration is too incompetent for that.

Or, more likely, they are really wanting a Muslim ban. As Trump said repeatedly.

If ALL terrorists are dangerous and MOST terrorists are Muslims what country would you impose a travel ban on?

A. Australia
B. Canada
C. Iran
D. Isle of Man

Changing the policy takes time and requires input from multiple departments within the federal government.

But it's more important that other countries amend their policies so they can provide adequate documentation on those wishing to enter the U.S. The U.S. government can't do that.

@Henny
Isle of Man.

Obviously that country is misogynistic.

Why isn't it called Isle of Man and Woman?

Or, better yet, Isle of Man and Womyn?

Henny
Given that most school shooters are white men, who would you kick out of the country?

A. You
B. A Latina
C. A teen Iraqi refugee
D. KellyAnne Conway

It's not racist if perhaps it is a gay mans island. Like the island of Lesbos is a lesbian only island. The English have always had islands where they discriminated against gays.

Latina's get to stay because they are chicks and Demi Lovato is a latina.

KellyAnn Conway stays because she is hot.

Teen Iraqi refugee don't get to stay because if one M&M in a bowl is a terrorist then you have to not take the risk.

I get to stay because I'm cool.

Henny
WRONG! As a white man, you are predestined to be a violent school shooter.
You are voted off the island.

Bye!
tower919

Violence isn't taught to white men.

Can we say jihad isn't taught to SOME Muslims and that the teaching isn't based off Islam's "holy" texts?

@Henny
A friend of mine back in middle school said they had to rename the Virgin Islands after he went on vacation there. He was quite a ladies' man, even back then, but I doubt they'd have to rename the Isle of Lesbos if he went there.

Yes. It conveys disdain for your comment which implies .... what? That others are taught violence? So... video games, sports, American militarism and the military don't teach violence? Where did they learn it???

What is it you're trying to say? It's so meaningless it made me laugh. So poorly thought through that it really warrants no real reply.

Sorry I need to explain that.

So you're saying SOME Muslims are not taught violence?

And that the violence they are taught does not come from Islam's "holy" texts?

Sure, members of the military are taught violence in case of war. They're not taught to kill indiscriminately. Contact sports teach violence that is confined to an athletic field. Video games may teach violence contained within the game itself.

Do any of your examples teach indiscriminate violence and murder against innocent people?

BTW, why do you feel the need to insult? You do it quite frequently.

It's a side effect of trying to behave himself in the 1A club for all of these years. It's hard to keep it bottled up and other clubs are freeing, even cathartic.

Wonder where it comes from, though.

How hard is it to discuss and debate without resorting to insults and ridicule, particularly when they're not in reaction to the same?

My brother told me a story once about how one of his neighbors called the cops about something trivial. After hearing the guy's reason for calling the cops and seeing how upset he was, the cop asked, "What's really bothering you?"

The same could be asked of a few posters in the forums.

I realize a few are still traumatized by the election, but that happened more than four months ago. Time to accept that Donald J. Trump is the duly elected and legitimate president of the United States.
