thumper 29-Nov-18, 14:55	Almost any subject is fair game but please refer to rules 1 & 2 before you post something that would make you angry if it was directed to you. In this club I would prefer that people talk with each other and not at each other.
thumper 29-Nov-18, 19:21	I wondered who would be the first. Sorry Roman, you drew the short straw. Sometimes you have to shoot a hostage to make the point. As funny as that vid was to me that's not the direction I want to go here. Remember, if you wouldn't like it done to you don't do it. This is early on and this club will find it's legs and tolerance level and I'll get more use to this seat but I want to keep it comfortable for both ends of the spectrum. From now on I will ask the poster (privately) to re-evaluate any questionable posts and give them the opportunity to defend it or delete it. We should be able to police ourselves with minimal to no interference.

Follow that requirement or any further posts will be deleted without further warning nor will I salvage the remaining elements of the post.
thumper 25-Oct-20, 11:06	I've seen a trend in the clubs where people are deliberately making posts in violation of GK rules of conduct, knowing and expecting the post will likely be deleted for violation but count on it staying up long enough for their intended target to read it. They even admit this is their goal. If such tactics persist in this club the offender/s will be removed without ceremony.
thumper 04-Feb-21, 18:53	I see that a couple on the hard left currently in the club seem to be making a concerted effort to flood the threads with massive amounts of argumentative, abusive and aggressive posts, trying to drown out and bury all other POVs. Abusing fellow club members and club tolerance is wearing thin. That's not what this club is about. If you can't control yourselves, I will be forced to take action.
softaire 23-Dec-23, 10:11	LS Application to NG LS has made an application for membership into the NG Club. We have considered it and we have rejected it. LS has been a member of several other clubs for a long time. During those long times, he has made several good and worthy contributions to many discussions. However, he has made several unwarranted and unworthy attacks on individuals who were members of those clubs and are now members of this club. LS has the opportunity of his free speech in those clubs. While often times making useful educational, pertinent, and interesting scientific, historical, or personal posts, LS has a history of inciting extreme hostility, acrimony, and rancor among participants. He has had a tendency, on more than one occasion, to take information out of context, misinterpret posts, misapply historical truths, and simply portray people inappropriately. Ls has the habit of creating descriptions of events and statements, as he interprets them, by using inappropriate language which convey vile, explicit, visions of sexual phantasies. He is most likely to do this when posting about politics, especially about Republicans, conservatives, and their topics. Those posts are usually the most unfair, untruthful, and most likely break the rules of societal norms. We feel this type of posting is not needed in NG.
thumper 24-Apr-24, 14:47	It seems a problem is developing in the club where threads are unnecessarily being pushed out of view to page 2 or 3 due to the creation of many separate threads with like subject matter. Don't create thread after thread after thread talking about the same basic subject. This practice results in basically spam and is a disservice to the rest of the club. If you have a comment about a thread topic you're free to use that thread to comment, don't just start many new threads burying all others. This is bad form and disrespectful to your club mates.

Actually, it was a challenge to him from me to present his views in person rather than telegraphing them through other people or PM's. Let's please give him respect and see his views and reasons. They might really make sense and, if not, you will have your fair opportunity to make your case.
softaire 26-Aug-24, 13:26	I warmly welcome LS back into the club. He has the potential to introduce some good, new topics and to insert expert commentary into existing topics. He "sometimes" makes stimulating, excitable posts, so I suggest we reflect on them before making a knee-jerk response.
softaire 20-Sep-24, 15:43	I have removed LS from the club with the message "You have been more disruptive than the positive resource I expected.". It was an experiment with a possible, very positive outcome. Unfortunately it didn't work out IMHO.

There has been an increasing number of negative posts between some members in this club going on for quite a while. Despite requests and then warnings by Thumper and myself, these posts continue to contain insults, name-calling, and condescensions rather than valid and useful conversation of topics with an open, accepting and interested attitude. It has gotten so bad that we had an incident where someone deemed it his duty to demand that others remove their post(s) when he doesn't like or agree with the post. He then threatened to report the post if his demanded deletion was not carried out in his mandated time frame. Not only was this threatened "reporting action" carried out, the person reported the item twice... simply to ensure that it was received and not lost in the mail, I guess. The purpose of this post is to announce once again that it is for Thumper and I to decide if a post(s) should be removed or not. If you think a post deserves removal, the procedure is to ask us via PM, if possible. We prefer that these things be kept as "low profile" as reasonably possible. The procedure is NOT to DEMAND that the writer of an offending post remove/delete his own post, within a specified time frame as demanded, or some retaliation action will happen. It is NOT any member's right to threaten others with punishment if they do not comply with stated demands. These are things that could be discussed civilly, if we have civil members. The other purpose of this post is also to announce that patience is running low. Everyone knows that we should all participate as adults, in a civil way, with manners. Remember... you are NOT required to reply to a post you don't like. Neither Thumper or I want to remove participants from the club. However, threats and demands will not be tolerated and removal becomes a possibility. Deletion of posts is our responsibility.
